Hey, from my understanding, you used Meltzoff and Moore as a study supporting reciprocity, right? When discussing paper 1 today, someone pointed out that a question reminded them of Meltzoff and Moore's study (it was about a mother sticking out their tongue and then the baby sticks out their tongue in response), so it reminded them of interactional synchrony. I remembered this video and told them that their study was for reciprocity, but then I looked around and saw that most sources said it was for interactional synchrony - so I was wondering why you used it to support reciprocity over here? Thanks
@Li-xj1on6 ай бұрын
ik this is late but I think (???) that reciprocity comes under interactional synchrony. if I get a chance ill try and check w my textbook tomorrow
@hassanrizvi3705 ай бұрын
The reason I asked was particularly because in the 2024 paper 1 exam, there were 2 identify questions regarding reciprocity and interactional synchrony; it gave scenarios and you had to identify the correct mechanism. Surely this means that they’re separate enough to be distinguished as different questions in an exam. Furthermore, the question regarding reciprocity used a scenario very similar to meltzoff and moore’s study as someone pointed out in the Student Room, and I said something along the lines of ‘yeah, but wasn’t that a study for reciprocity anyways?’ And after some googling and even using chatgpt it seems that meltzoffs study seems to be mainly about interactional synchrony which confused me.

@@hassanrizvi370 that's so bizarre!! hopefully those couple of marks won't make too much of a difference- especially since lots of other people were probably be confused. im sure you did great!!
@hassanrizvi3705 ай бұрын
It should be fine since I think I got those questions correct (although I did effectively miss out on 2 8 markers in P3 so rip). Luckily there was no essay questions asking about infant attachment. This question about meltzoff and Moore was more of a curiosity concern. Thanks!

Didnt bowlby change the critical period of 6 months to the sensitive period of 2 years as sometime those caregiver interactions can be saved if the child has a caregiver that interacts with them?? Correct me if im wrong
@zennxyz_15 күн бұрын
im pretty sure it began as the critical period of 6-30 months (2.5 yrs), then was changed to the sensitive period of up to 5 years
