Given the way all the monsters seem to be floating a bit, I wonder if the problem with the spiders is that the model is above its own hitbox. Would explain why you generally couldn't kill them unless you were right on top and looking down.

The toughest thing in this game isn't the giant pinky demon, it's the tiny spider that can take round after round of a sniper or shotgun pointblank. Not to mention the sniper can't snipe. It's got the range of a 3 year old throwing a basketball. The game should be called Inverted, where the rules are backwards. At the very least, it would be apt. Strongest weapon in the game is Luigi's little kick taunt from Smash Bros. Instant Kill.

I noticed that the spider's shadows didn't align with it's body. In fact the body is floating a bit above the ground level. My theory is that you were missing it's actual hurtbox (edit: hitbox) because you were aiming at the rendered model instead of the hitbox, which was probably lower to the ground. That would also explain why you could hit them from up close as you would aim downwards. But hey, that's just a theory.

Their hotbox is below their body. If you look you can see that the spiders were floating above a ground a bit. That was why when it was close you killed it, and why the one that was behind it earlier was killed even though the shot missed hitting it's visual model.

What seems to be happening with the spiders is, that the SHOT actually BEHAVES NORMALLY, so it's not EXACTLY where the dot on the sniper rifle is. You would need to adjust it to have perfect aim (which is surely not possible). So the shot is not where you point the dot at. Your dot was on point with the spiders.

When the game actually started I was thinking the assets didn't look that bad, until the zombie dogs waddled into frame, followed by the "Horrid Spider" which is such a classic, it might as well be a damn meme at this point. I also can't believe those barrels didn't explode when fired on. And now thanks to the penis, demonotized! If it was monotized at all. That thing with the spikes though, it looked like it was from that game "The Suffering."

The spiders are actually floating above the ground looking at their shadows but the hitbox seems to be tied to the ground they're floating above so you need to shoot below the spiders, it's why the shotgun works so well and shooting them from a downward angle up close. God what a shoddy game.

If you watch very close at 4:22 you can see that the gun applies recoil first and then checks if it hit something. So you hit the spider behind because the recoil put your crosshairs on it.

I think the spider things are hard to hit because the model is hovering a foot above the ground. Maybe its hitbox is on the ground below it? Might explain why you had an easier time shooting them when they were right next to you and you were aiming down.

The spider was floating when you couldnt hit it. Im guessing the actual hitbox was just below the spider where his model should be if it was on the ground. Still a tiny hitbox compared to the size of it.
