Ymir excruciatingly sculpting the titans for eternity while Fritz’s monologue played over it was terrifying. And for multiple reasons, actually. A villain's monologue about world domination is pretty generic stuff, but this monologue is encouraging his daughters to begin a tradition of cannibalism of family members, where children eat their parents' bodies to get the power to become giant monsters, giving their empire the strength to conquer all of humanity and enslave them, and it all happens while it's revealed that Ymir is cursed to forever build every single titan from clay in a netherworld where time barely moves. When Fritz says it'll happen for eternity, we understand that Ymir has to build the titans for eternity, just to satisfy Fritz's endless call for more power

That "Devil" with which Ymir made the pact looks a lot like the Attack Titan (Eren). In addition, Marley apparently portrayed Ymir as "making a pact with the Devil" in their propaganda, hence, referring to her subjects as Devils. So, that "Devil and Ymir" image has a double-meaning that fits both dynamic. Brilliant. Someone also picked up that there were 13 people pointing at Ymir when that ratted her out to the King. Makes you wonder if that is symbolic of the 13-year Titan life span. I remember when Ymir (former Jaw Titan) was "ratted out" in a similar way. They also showed her seeing the paths in Season 2. Isayama uses so much symbolism and foreshadowing in this work that it just makes you wonder about a lot. I love such stories that "make you think."

I agree with what you said about creating the attack titan. I think Ymir created him to free her, and I think this titan is the last titan she created, and the only titan with such a powerful agenda. I'm also sure that the attack titan was never inherited by someone with a royal blood. Grisha was the first Eldian to combine the attack titan with the founder titan in his body, and Eren is the first attack titan who activates the founder titan. Ymir's connection with Historia is stunning too. I must say. Not only that they looked alike (especially as pregnant young women) but also in their story line. When Historia refused to eat Eren, she said: I don't want to be a god. That's what Eren said to Ymir too. Not only that she isn't a slave, but she doesn't have to keep working as a titan-creator god anymore. She can choose what to do. And that's the real power of the attack titan. Ymir created him this way, with pure hunger for freedom, the freedom she never had (and she wanted to give to the pig she released). By the way, the other tragic part about her life, was that she was never LOVED for the HUMAN she was. She craved love and affection (that look she had towards the kissing couple), but the first Fritz king never really loved her. Even when she died, he told her to just get up, because she can, not because he loves her. I think that at this moment she chose to die, even though she obviously could easily recover. She died to free herself from this loveless life, but instead of leaving her rest in peace, the Eldian king kept her in slavery for 2000 years, so she can keep creating titans for his empire. In the middle of this endless time, she created the attack titan, and sent him to Eren, someone who is from the very beginning of his life, refused to just live in a cage. The very first episode was called: For you, in 2000 years; and this episode is called: From you, since 2000 years ago. I have this crazy feeling that the whole story was just a very long message from Ymir to Eren. And in this episode, the message arrived. I can't get over how brilliant this story is.

Am I wrong to assume that the only "bad guy" in this show is Fritz? 🤔

The parasite like creature that gives ymir the power of titan is inspired in the real life parasite called "hallucigenia".

Well Eren said at the end of Season 1 when fighting Annie that he was gonna destroy the world. Guess we should've listened.

So cool to see the Hallucigenia equivalent appearing. :)

Originally there were only 8 titans, but Ymir's eager to free creating a titan named "attack on titan ", so the story start. The bloody flower pentals number changed from 8 to 9 shows this information.

I am just shocked, I can't even comprehend the idea that this is episode 5 out of the 12 that are confirmed and Manga readers keep telling that would definitively not cover everything. It's like, I feel like this is almost the end, like there's only 3 episodes left. Just WOW! This is amazing, I'm loving this show so much and it's incredible just to see how much time has passed and it still keeps me on the edge of bursting out a lot of emotions (I was in middle school when I started to watch the first season of AoT, I'm 6 semesters into college now).

Do you remember the episode ending in 2nd season? Go and watch it again... That ending showed us so much and we didn't know it, Even the rumbling. The epic thing about this is the fact that the ending was made before even the manga shows this info.

I have empathy for Ymir too but she did just kind of chill in PATHs for 2000 years letting Titans menace the world because she wanted to keep on obeying the Royal Family who used her as a war tool and breeding mechanism. God this show is so good lol.

Eren had the founding power but he can’t use it without Royal blood you know…Ymir makes everting possible as you see. She heals everybody,makes the Titan before they transform etc.
@mukund12702 жыл бұрын
Eren did not see all of the future. He only saw his future from/based on Grisha’s memories when he kissed historia’s hand. Important distinction.
