The part with Pieck's squad is actually sad because they are all Marleyans and yet they've formed a relationship with an Eldian. Magath is shown to care about the warrior kids. Reiner is fighting tooth and nail for them. Usually it's the good guy who has to rise up against all odds in order to fight their enemy. You'd expect that person to be Eren. But Eren is the seemingly unstoppable enemy and Reiner is the one rising above all odds to face him. Even Porco is fighting for the sake of his friends. Even though these characters are supposed to be Antagonists, they're still human and they stand together. Which just makes the show all the more gray morally as the "good guys" are painted in a more negative light. Also, small fun fact, Zeke saying, "As expected of Pieck, that's exactly right" became such a meme when it happened in the manga because he said it like 3 times. Eren and the Marleyans have the same mentality towards the conflict: Total War - which means everything and everyone is a legitimate military target in their eyes, including civilian populations. Eren knows that the Marleyans wouldn't hesitate to completely wipe out everyone on Paradis island (and he's right, that's exactly what they plan to do now that they've declared war), so he's clearly refusing to hold back in battle himself either.

Some details are insane in this show. One of the gunners of the Cart that was shot by Sasha? You can see that in his "cabin" he's got some photos with his unit and solo photo of Pieck. It's the same man that looses his shit when Pieck hugged someone else from his unit to warn about "the shady soldier" in Declaration of War episode. Yeah, Sasha headshot a Marleyan soldier that had crush on Pieck.

If someone is giving you shit for how you treat the characters, they are not taking into account, that they already saw the entire S4, while you are just starting up. S4 represents a paradigm shift, from very morally one sided story, to one that is very morally gray, its harder to cheer for someone, when you realize the line between good guys and villains has been blurred, but I'd say most of us were reacting the same way you are, when we first saw it.

The reason Reiner looks different is he wanted to die. If you recall one episode ago: Reiner was literally asking Eren to kill him. The guy is physically, mentally, and emotionally exhausted. He just didn’t have the energy or will to properly transform. The Power of the Titans is inextricably linked to the user’s mental state And if you remember back in Season 1, Eren wasn’t even able to transform because he didn’t have the willpower to take Annie on.

Let's GOOOOO Carlie & Ange!!!! This is literally one of the most action packed *single* episodes AoT has ever shown. It's also such a one sided battle. Armin completely nukes a port of over 30,000 soldiers and boats of Marleys army, Levi literally slaughters Zeke in round 2 within seconds, Pieck and crew get demolished. The Warhammer titan gets nutcracked and eaten by Eren, by use of the Jaws, after the Jaws is delimbed and brutally smashed up and at the end, due to Reiners nearly depleted willpower, can't even transform into his titan properly (barely half made armour - hence why he looks much more human like in his titan form). It's such a filled pack episode.

Gabi and Eren has absolutely nothing like each other besides the anger... She know way much than Eren when he was a kid and still being a fucking racist, while Eren as a kid was angry at the attack not at who did the attack

And in this context Gabi is as clueless as Eren, she is just on the other side of the wall raised to believe people in the island ruined their life. If she ever meets the people on the island will she ever change her mind?

​@@tey5471 Reminding of season 1, okay, but what do you mean about "clueless as Eren", the only thing he knew is that titans got in and ate his mom and destroyed everything, thats the main reason of his anger, while Gabi at the same "moment of season 1" know about eldians, that there is 9 titans, she knows about guns and war, she knows that she want to go to a mission to kill other eldians as "evils"... her anger is that people they were supposed to keep killing is now bringning it back and theyre losing the "control" above this war, theres no way to measure two weights with the same measurement as theyre "clueless" at the same level

IMHO, this is one of the darkest scenes in the whole story. Even in the manga this scene was pretty insane, but the way it's animated makes it significantly worse.
