Likewise, Paradis is at risk because of this, and thus they must act as well. Strike first, strike hard, and do not give your enemy the opportunity to retaliate.

To me, the most life changing moment Eren have gone through is when he discovered Annie was the enemy that was pretending. Back then, he wasn't aware of how someone could took other people's life to get what they wanted. He didn't get it that there was a bigger plot for someone to massacred dozens of lives. Until he learned that outside the wall, across the sea, there's literal more advanced continent where so many humans lived in luxury and all. After that, i think he isn't the same. Taking advantage of Zeke who thinks of Eren as his real lil brother, he then proceeded to work silently with Floch that was having a biggest deal to revenge after the beast titan masacre. And then, we got the Eren now that we see.
