Ymir didn't age becouse she was a mindless titan for 60 years. She first became a titan shifter when she ate Reiner and Bertholt's friend. She was injected and thrown off the wall like Grisha's restorationts. It just happened to Ymir many years before Grisha. It was stated only eldians could be turned into titans, so any other people are immune. Basically it's genetic. They're not really wrong for calling them "monsters". Imagine a race like that in the real world, they'd also be regarded as monsters and understandably so. Can't wait to see your reaction to season 4, best season by far imo! Once you're done with the series, it'd be interesting to see you rank episodes like with season 1. Also maybe top 10 or 20 characters, something like that.

Paying too much attention to the effect rather than the cause. Grisha used Zeke as a tool for the restorationists. "But if anyone, I should have known...How terrible the sin to besmirch one's beliefs on your own children...Not as a child of royal blood...Not as the hope of restoring Eldia...But as my son Zeke, have I ever thought of him that way?

The Owl didn't choose Grisha when he caught him with his sister that day, nor did he kill her. He just took notice of him that day but he didn't pick him or decide on having him do anything at that point. Most likely he started considering Grisha as a prospect when found out that he become a restorationist leader. Our Ymir is only named after the original Ymir, The Eldian Empire ruled the world for 2000 years and ended around 100 years ago before Grisha's life, Only eldians or people with eldian blood in them or their ancestry can turn into titans and only 9 of them have intelligence. Oh, and Zeke is ny favourite character. Also an advice: I disagree with Flock about everything he does and think BUT if you ignore characters and their points just because you don't "like" them or because they bore you, you're gonna miss SO much of the rest of the series, because there won't be anymore hand holding, spoon feeding or easy answers in season 4 and if you miss them when they're given they won't be repeated and this would affect your understanding of the rest of the show. So get your notebook and magnifying glasses and hold on 😅😅😅

@@daniaaal It goes from an exciting story to a boring, clunky and misguided one. These analogies tend to fall flat in fantasy settings. It's similar to Marvel's Mutants: people are right to fear them. Not saying the regular humans go about it the right way in these stories - they don't - but the equation of regular humans vs regular humans we have in the real world is desecrated when you put regular humans vs "x magical race". Good intentions on the part of the authors but bad analogies don't help, as oppressed groups in real life can't shoot fire from their hands like mutants or turn into giant flesh eating creatures like titans. Unfortunately that's what this horrible twist turned AoT into, a tale about the circle of violence based on a bad analogy that jeopardizes its themes - and it doesn't help that it was done so late. Oh well, RIP.

@@shashwatmishraalumni4918 except all the situations in AoT derive from the titans, therefore, we cannot make a comparison because the events in this fictional world does not have a single one to be compared in real life. That's the dangers of thinking like you, guys with your mindset are the ones that compared eldians to je - ws , when in the universe of AoT their situation couldn't be more different. Art has to take inspiration from real life because that's easier than creating everything by your own, not because the author wants to talk about a specific topic in the real world. You mentioned the jeagerists, ok, when has a real world country face an alliance of the whole world governments deciding to OFF-ing every single person in a whole country? Kids, women, elderly, not even animals will be spared, when has something like that happen in our world? Because the Jeagerists actions are a direct consequence of the world's actions towards them. To be fair, Grisha was trying to force his own views on Zeke, and use him as a tool, so I don't think Zeke turning in his parents makes him evil. His future actions are a different matter, of course, but I think saying he may have been evil even as a kid is unfair.

Did you notice that when Eren said his titan’s name, “Attack Titan,” that he said “shingeki no kyojin?” That’s the title of the show, Shingeki no kyojin.” So the question is: is the English translation “Attack on Titan” the real translation? Or should the real English title be “Attack Titan.” Whatever it is, i love the ambiguity of this - the choice to name it Attack on Titan despite it not necessarily being word for word exact translation of shingeki no kyojin “He lived. Can I get Marlo back? I liked Marlo.” Haha i feel the exact same way. I actually love Marlo so much now that I’m on season 1 of Gintama, a show i adore so much that I think it may tie with Attack on Titan as my favorite. Gintoki the main character shares the same VA as Marlo, so sometimes i go back to Marlo scenes to find Gintoki in him. Haha

It was explained by Hange when she explained the world in the concil with the queen. Eldians are a race that can turn into titans. No others, only Eldians. Only the descendant from Ymir, the first Ymir, can turn into titans. Only the people who have some of her blood can be turned. It's genetic. And it was already explained why the Ymir we know was wondering 60 years outside the walls. ( She is not the original one. She was named after the first Ymir. Because the old Ymir was some sort of godess for Eldians. ) The Ymir we know was into a Pure titan form, immortal and not conscious. 10:00 "I'm not gonna say this kid is evil but this kid is evil" mmmh yes Idk, I don't want to say anything because it'd read as a spoiler no matter what example i give but when I watched this episode I thought of at least 3 wildly different situations that end up with with the same exact scenario presented in that episode where you don't assume that a child must be ontologically evil 11:25 TLDR "i needed you to be full of hate because if you don't you're gonna fold, because carrying this out is so painful, so hard, that the only things that can possibly fuel you are the sunk cost fallacy and hatred" He even said something that basically meant "back in the day i was just like you, consumed and fueled by hatred but today is not only my 13 year term near its end, I've done unspeakable things to my brethren for like a decade, I'm petering out both literally and metaphorically" 16:00 as for the "is everything connected" there's a funny little details that are curious, when Armin is cheering up eren after hannes death has the same body language as berthold when he cheered up reiner before he got the titan, also the only thing we know at this point about marcel (Reiner's friend that ymir ate) is that he was willing to sacrifice himself, and a very key feature of our ymir is that she can't help but to sacrifice herself, so that kinda opens up a really funny line of questioning "are the people who get the titans sort of chosen by their personalities to embody certain titans or are they destinied to become titans because their personalities match perfectly with the titan that they have/will have" (or it's all just flavor that sort of emerged into something else that wasn't quite even in the author's mind) PS: THANKS FOR SHITTING ON FLOCH'S HAIR

It would make more sense for the Titans to have different names than we have known them since the scouts basically just called them what they look like: that one is colossal! It’s the colossal titan! that one looks female! It’s the female titan! That one looks armored! It’s the armored titan! I believe the author kept all of these names the same because going into season four people are already confused trying to trackthe nine Titans, they would be even more confused if some of them had multiple names.
