The final part of final season of Attack on Titan was a disappointing pile of mess. The ending is full of potholes, mistakes, abandoned themes and stories. It makes if not the whole series, then at least season 4 suck in retrospect.

1) Levi should have joined Eren because anything else is contradictory to his character. Levi always fought to free the people of the island and saw countless comrades die for that reason, also he saw his dearest friends get killed by the warriors, and now all of sudden he's a team with them because "le evil rumbling"?? 2)Levi should kill Zeke and Annie and Reiner (after Eren has used Zeke) 3)Gabi must die, she's the single most psychopathic and disgusting human being i'ver ever seen 4)Eren must complete the rumbling 5)Floch should be glorified as the utmost embodiment of bravery, and heroism 6)Historia bares Eren's child, which he successfully saves and protects by a successful rumbling, thus surpassing his father and grandfather who failed to protect their children.(surpassing the father theme being concluded in the best way possible) 7)Ymir actually having a personality other than 10th degree stockholm syndrome 8)The plot about Mikasa being Hizuru royalty actually leading somewhere 10) Eren not killing his mom because that's nonsensical bs 11)Eren not convincing Grisha to kill the Reiss, he was already a dedicated restorationist, had no need for being convinced. 12) Eren actually not even having any time travel powers at all would instantly make the show 100 times better. 13)The cringelliance should have 100% death rate with multiple members dying at the port battle and everyone else dying against the Founder

Hey mate. You left a comment on my vid and I thought I'd come and check out your video! For your first video this is incredible. You clearly did a lot of research into this and your thoughts are clear and concise. Nicely done ^_^ I liked your observations about ymir choosing not to heal herself. I hadn't thought of that before but that actually makes sense. Why would she want to keep living as a slave... Little did she know she had 2000 years to go hahaha. Also "if Sasha didn't die I bet she would just eat a potato on top of Erens head" had me rolling hahahah Personally I don't think the show is pro genocide and I actually enjoyed the circular nature of war on display with paradis being destroyed anyway. I think it's more a commentary on human nature. Great vid bro!

Thank you for the kind words, your video was awesome too! I enjoyed the editing of your vid and the special warning for the mother was very sweet. If only Eren could be so thoughtful of his mum😅 For the genocide point, I do feel the intent was to show that war never changes/cycle of hatred etc. Although I did mention the researches about AOT being pro nationalism and fascism I still don't think Isayama wanted to promote genocide. But it does come out that way, intentional or not (a lot of people believe the ending was written badly on purpose). The only active character who supports Genocide is Flock (Jean brings up those points as well, but he doesn't support it), and all of his words come into fruition. Naturally, the audience is only left with a thought "What if Eren succeeded with 100%"? While we don't know the answer definitely, even the existence of this question should be bizarre to a sane person, but here we are.

When Eren activated the Rumbling it shouldn't have been stopped. Just show that Genocide didn't bring anything good, show Eren traumatized etc. It would also be consistent with what we were lead to believe was "the original ending" (the panel with a kid shown by Isayama long before the ending). Eren sacrificed everything for this child to be born in a new, free world. Let the audience decide if it was worth it (or you can again show Paradis getting destroyed, now from internal conflict, thus leaving the stupid cycle of hatred and genocide is wrong messages) There are other ways but the main issue is the whole world is portraited to be racist towards Eldia and Paradis. So any other change would differ the story too much (introducing more politics, Paradis trying to find allies, not writing Eren as 2 completely different characters etc.) and at this point you're basically writing your own story. I kinda tried to play with the cards that we were given.

If he doesn't do the rumbling, Paradis WILL be destroyed. In the alternate ending it was properly established. So in that sense, Eren had no choice but to do the rumbling as that's the only way forward, destroy the rest of the world and save paradise. However, does Eren himself want to do the rumbling? Yes he does because the world is cruel, he was also disappointed with the world, hence he did it. But in saying this, if he could have done it differently to get an outcome, he would have. That's why he continued the rumbling, even after Zeke died. He saw the future after he fully activated the rumbling (not before because going in he just wanted to do it) that the only way the Titan curse can end is if Eren dies at the hands of Mikasa, and everything must happen exactly as it did for her to kill him, he ran different simulations but only 20% would survive no matter how he tries. In other words, as a founder, if he could have seen a different outcome after becoming a Founding Titan, he would have done so, but the only outcome is kill 80% die by Mikasa hand, End Titan curse, because That's the only way Ymir become strong enough to break her bond with The late King. Summary 1)Eren had to do the rumbling. 2)Eren wanted to do the rumbling. 3)Eren plan to kill 100% of people outside the walls 4)When Eren got full power, he discovered that killing 80% and dying in the hands of Mikasa will end all Titan curse (he didn't know that before going in) he tried to see if he could kill less people, but he couldn't. 5) Eren killed his mom because of what he saw as founder, that everything must be as it is. No changing.

1. "Why did Grisha go through with giving his titan to Eren if he wanted Zeke to stop him?" To him, its clear that the future can't change. He's seen some of the rumbling, that "terrible fate" he saw, and believes that he's somewhat powerless to go against the flow. He's already really emotionally distraught, and his original goal WAS to help Eren. His motivations are swinging at each other too fast for even him to comprehend, so all he can do is hope that Zeke can stop the horrible rumbling. 2. It's fine to think the Connie plot of feeding a kid to his mom to fix her was horrible, I agree it did come and go pretty fast, but I think it still holds merit. It shows that Connie isn't fully prepared for the hell of the rumbling, and he, kinda like Jean, just wants to make the most of the madness and pray for the best. Even he still harbors hate against the crazy people who technically killed his friend. But I do get not liking this point. 3. Saying Levi was only reduced to "kill Zeke" ignores a lot of who he's always been. As captain, a lot of the times his goal is to help "black-and-white" scenarios for people. He helps people see what they have to do, and his talk of Zeke is always done to get the scouts, friends of Eren, off of the topic of killing Eren. Even in a way, he blames himself for letting it all happen, because he let Zeke live. It's why he can seem hyperfocused on it at times, he's trying to make amends. 4. I actually like the pie scene. It really shows how much time has passed, and how much more both parties understand each other. Annie really isn't a giant threat now, she's just... a person. A person who wants to escape the madness. Connie almost did something horrible himself, and he's always been a jokester at heart. But, I understand if you don't like it. *left of at 11:34, will continue when I can

1. If he thinks the future can't change, there's no reason to ask Zeke. I can agree that he's distraught and can't really comprehend what he's doing, but he still needs to travel to the Trost District to locate Eren, he had time to compose himself. 2. Agreed, but I still feel the plot is out of place pacing wise and it's too bizzare even for Connie to feed a child to his mother. 3. I can agree that was the intent but it ignores the fact that he doesn't interract with Annie in any way. It also ignores Levi's own thoughts where he admits he wants to kill Zeke to prove Erwin's death meant something and to fulfill the order. 4. Agree to disagree, I guess, I can see where you're coming from though.

@@JetX08 I will when people stop telling me what to hate. See the hypocrisy there? Like it's not just a talk about the ending being bad, it's about how wrong we are for liking it. You make comments and use memes and funny music to show how bad it is WHY?!? Why did you make this video? Just to expose your feelings? No because you want others to understand the hate. You want the hate to be justified....but it simply isn't by everyone else. So I'm gonna continue believing that your funny side stuff in this video is just pandering and an excuse to justify how bad it is for yourself. But I'm not on your side in this. Maybe talking about positive factors to the ending which are there would make me believe you actually care about other people who do care for it. Im honestly getting sick of one thing in particular. The fact that its just concluded EASILY MIND YOU that the "poor narrative choices" were the result of not caring/making some specticle or fight to appease fans. Please STOP AND ASK YOURSELVES. Why would isayama deliberately sabatoge his story without any reason to do so? Especially because he loved it, CHERISHED IT, and worked so hard to bring it to the BEST conclusion he could?!? Why would he just let these "supposed bad things" happen ...when we praise him for the work hes done up until like the last fucking movie?!? The answer CANNOT be that he doesnt care BECAUSE HE OBVIOUSLY DOES. It wasnt from a different writer so that's out, it wasnt because he stopped trying or made others appeased. Yeah he made people happy by having armin get the colossal over erwin IN SEASON 3... ARGUABLY THE BEST SEASON OF AOT FOR SO MANY. so the real answer is he didnt, and he is still the same person who wrote and cared for his story. He didnt sabatoge it and yet thats what we are supposed to believe? Well clearly you never loved aot to begin with because youre discounting the writer entirely... because you didnt get what you wanted. Its as simple as that. It makes absolutely no sense to bash someone you loved and cherished because of what he created. Its still his creation, and sure he can fall off or get worse i guess....but all you people make it sound like its not even him anymore, and it was...AND I HAVE PROVEN how he wouldnt sabotage his own story. So wheres your argument to this?!? Why do we keep saying that just because it doesnt fit our expectations and isnt fully explained that it shows isayama was a hack and a fraud. FINE THEN DISCOUNT ALL OF AOT AND NEVER TALK POSITIVELY ABOUT IT AGAIN.... HYPOCRITES.

If someone made something good, it doesn't mean they're untouchable now. I loved first 4 seasons of Game of Thrones, yet the final season sucks. The majority of Naruto fans think the war arc was bad and the final villain was ass. And it's actually similar to AoT, as the majority also think the arc before the war (Pain invasion) was one of the best. Did he not care for his creation or maybe he just wrote a shit ending? The author can make something good and they can as easily make something bad. Isayama is not omnipotent. I poointed objective flaws in the ending, it's not about me liking the route it took. I didn't get deep into why Isayama wrote what he wrote because honestly I don't care that much, and it would be pure speculation on my part a well as yours. We don't know what he feels about his creation. Maybe the fame has got to him, some folks believe it (you can find numerous evidence in the web that Isayama didn't expect for AoT to get that popular), maybe he just fot bored from it, maybe he was pressed into making such an ending by either the editors or the fanbase. We don't know. The only thing I actually speculated is that it's hard to make such a poor ending unintentionally, especially for someone who had proven himself before. But the bottom line os the ending was bad. P.s. If you su much believe in Isayama and that he can do no wrong, check out his interviews where he himself says the ending was executed poorly and he jas regrets.
@joshholleran9005
@joshholleran9005 9 ай бұрын
@@JetX08 BUT if the ending could be justified and is by so many people with facts and evidence then maybe isayama didn't fail us, we failed him. He acted the way he did in interviews because of how much pressure he was under.... because people hated it and they hated him....wanted him to kill himself. The point is, there is NOTHING claiming this is a bad ending because isayama failed his writing at all. People love the ending for a reason and we write it off as them being WRONG. Well what if instead it's the people ripping this ending to pieces and back that are actually wrong about their speculation and feelings and beliefs. Perhaps the story just jived with us the correct way for so long and when it finally went in a direct that didn't jive anymore, it suddenly becomes awful and trash. That's just absolutely absurd and tragic because thats not how things happen. Game of thrones sucked because the writers had no material to work with and flat out argued to end it early. Narutos ending is still beloved by people but the writer put himself into a corner. Did isayama? Obviously not if we have all the reasons how the ending could have been perfect. So he just let that happen? He just let the ending go bad? Why even have faith in any storytelling ever again when it's just gonna go bad because the writer decides it? Even though so many people disagree with these opinions that the ending was bad. Maybe it's us that are in the wrong. But no one argues this do they?
@JetX08
@JetX08 9 ай бұрын
'Isayama didn't fail us, we failed him' - are you for real, bro? What is he, Batman? You act like you know Isayama personally, he acted that way because of this, he did this because of that. You don't know that. And now it's okay to admit he acted the way he did because of fan pressure, but it's impossible that he wrote the ending the way he did because of the same fan pressure, right? Again, you can agree or disagree with me. If you believe the ending is truly great, provide evidence, right now your only point 'well people loved it so it must be good'. Hitler was also very popular in the 1930's, doesn't make him a good person. Writing something popular has little to do with it being actually good. Marvel movies are the most popular films by far, yet they're hardly the best ones. The other argument is 'well Isayama wrote good stuff before, how is it possible he can write a bad ending?', - he just can, dude, it doesn't really matter why aside from fun speculations. Some believe he did on purpose, some think he just wrote himself into a corner, others think the fan backlash was too much or editorial didn't allow him to do what he wanted. I really don't care that much, I believe the ending was bad and my video shows why, that's it basically. About GoT, Martin still gave them guidence, didn't he? And D&D also changed some stuff in previous seasons, yet they still were good. And even then, D&D still were pretty good directors, even if the writing sucked. But the last season even looks awful. And don't tell me you think Naruto war arc and the ending were good. And what are you even trying to argue? I can give you like a billion examples of authors who wrote good stuff and bad stuff. It's a common theme that a series doesn't stick the landing.
