I thought that reason was kind of dumb because not all openings have to follow the same formula, and plus using an action packed OP for the first part of Season 3 wouldn’t fit at all so I’m glad that WIT decided to animate an “action packed” one in the second part.

YALL I JUST CAUGHT THIS, so in the quick part where the supporting cast is being shown, the order and position they're in show their connection to eren and foreshadows who's hiding something, first jean sasha and connie are closet to the left and at one point we see both sides of their face, showing they're on erens side and not two-faced or hiding something, next ymir and historia are in the middle and we only see half of theirs, showing that they're somewhat on erens side but have a secret, then the warrior turn a completely different way from everyone else.
