I like that this is confusing people and some assuming we could get a new series. But ultimately it’s just a nod to “history repeats itself”. As everyone saw, after a long time a war, or possible wars were waged. Humans never change. The one real shred of happiness fans can take from this is that Eren got his wish. Mikasa and the rest of his friends who were alive got to live long lives. Making another series or some form of continuation would undermine the message of this ending and would be redundant. Because no matter what it could possibly be about, in the end, it will just come back again full circle.

Hard to say if he is free or not, after all, he is living in a seemingly post-apocalyptic world. He could be being hunted by his nation's aggressors or something. There's potential he fled from a bombed village or a survivor of a bombed city/town. He could want revenge against those who ruined his nation, or, at most, killed his family... Welp, we don't know much about him and it is fun to think about all the different possibilities! Especially what he could use the source of all organic life for... Maybe to save his people? Make the world better? And what form would these new "titans", if they even would be titans, be? I suppose it will be limited by his imagination, his desires, and his wish.

I must say, I like the way Attack On Titan ended. Eren Yeager expressed his feelings to Armin and managed to share a final goodbye to Mikasa through dreams and also when Mikasa kissed Eren's severed head as Ymir watched. I don't even care about what happens after because at the end of the day, everything concluded with just a farewell to everything that happened. Eren Yeager is punished through means of death for his sin of committing genocide on 80% of the human population and everyone else who is still alive can live in peace somehow without fear of Titans. The end credits symbolizes how many generations in the world will come to past. Our generation and current time will cease to exist. We're all waiting to turn into dust particles that'll become one again with the Earth's soil. Thanks MAPPA for animating this series and thanks to Hajime Isayama for creating the story we'll all come to know and remember for many years to come as a part of our history. Rest In Power, Eren Yeager. (To the boy who sought freedom, goodbye.)

I’d rather AOT end. It was great while it lasted but most continuations of a previous good story are typically underwhelming. If they are going to continue it, call it something completely different and change the titans to something brand new. Hell, just to avoid doing a prequel of Ymir’s early days when she first became a Titan, have the story focus on that future boy in the end and use Ymir’s origin story as the template. Have him rediscover Titan, then similar to Ymir’s story, have him being used to fight battles for a king in that post apocalyptic world as the only Titan alive going around and winning ever battle.

However what I took from that short is that no matter what History will continue to repeat itself with a new god chosen each time to be the next parasite... which would now be Eren's turn to be the next parasite which was suppose to be Ymir job but she was stuck and Eren took over for her something also tells me that was a particular event in some way that went more out of bounds then it should have however that is the human biology is to always make this worse before it gets better. However we will never truly know the whole thing only that it will continue again and again with a lot of time passing before each event probably.

I personally feel that the hallucigenia bring the embodiment of its host to life. When Ymir was being chased down and almost killed, the hallucigenia brought all of her emotions(including royal blood and non royal being different which is something a creature like the hallucigenia should not care about on its own) and her will to survive to life by giving her an immortal body that we refer to as titans as well as regeneration capabilities that Ymir gained. So in my opinion I feel like even if the boy comes into contact with the hallucigenia, the chance of titans coming back will probably be slim as the hallucigenia will likely bring the boys feelings and everything to life the way it did for Ymir.

Guy's, I don't think the "life" died as we all know it already existed before getting in contact with Ymir and the same can happen with Eren. Even after his death , it's not clear that the "Life" has died along with him or not. So it's surely possible that It's there within that tree , living like a parasite and supporting the growth of the tree. ( The Reason for that tree to become so long , after all these years ). I think when they called it “life” they didn’t mean that literally, but just in the meaning that it’s “alive” just like humans. I interpreted it as sorta like germs, theyre alive, they’re good and bad for us, they have a goal, a purpose. We don’t know if that thing is really dead and we don’t know if it can or cannot die, we don’t know what it is or it’s properties. I just thought of it as another one of lifes mysteries. Nobody will ever really know what it is, just as life goes on. I’d hope this was just meant to be shown as a metaphor for whatever isayama wanted to show us and it’s not a continuation cuz I don’t think that would be necessary. Would be cool tho

History repeats itself and war never ends. When the West won WW2, people got complacent and were more interested in congratulating themselves. And they thought naively that peace would just last forever. Peace is not something that once you get it, you can just forget about it. Peace is something that you have to constantly maintain. Even in a time of peace, you'll still have to fight to keep it.

Not really. The anime changed the ending a bit. Instead of making Paradis only last for over only hundreds of years like in the manga, Isayama (or mappa) decided it would be better if Paradis actually lasted for like thousands of years into the future instead. I think this was a good call since with this much time passing, there wouldn't be any reason for other countries to attack Paradis with the excuse of titans. Human greed for power is highlighted more clearly.

plot twist: a child with a dog in the final credits will later become an enemy of humanity because he is trying to turn all of humanity into mindless Titans, because for him mindless Titans are the final stage for humans so they no longer kill each other. This villain also uses science to manipulate the parasite in Eren's head. "Nuclear apocalypse will not stop humans from killing each other," "I am the one who will stop humans from killing each other" (he said). On the other hand, there will be a main character who is different from Eren, the main character who avoids conflict and wants to live peacefully with his wife and children, lives under the city of Shingashina, then runs away from pursuit, and is even willing to travel far away with his wife and children. exploring ruins, forests, mountains, even deserts to avoid endless conflict, also experiencing terrible things and even being faced with the future of humanity which is slowly turning into mindless titans.

Bro, I think the two endings were from the decision of Ymir Fritz after concluding Mikasa's choice. After seeing her kill Eren, she made up her mind to not be slaved forever. After Mikasa told Ymir that her love was a nightmare, then it flashed a scene that Ymir didn't save King Fritz at that time. So there are two endings. One that is the true route of the Aot timeline (Ymir saving King Fritz) causing the world where there are titans, and second is when Ymir didn't save King Fritz causing the titan powers to not get passed down to her daughters (world without titans). So maybe, just maybe there was a timeline where titans don't exist and the characters were just having a normal happy life.

The dog falls down and becomes the new founding Titan, however, since Ymir is dead, he won't become cursed with living just 13 years, and will live on forever as long as no one severs his spine. Civilization had advanced quite a lot, past the point where we are in the real world, so they were quite more knowledgeable about science than we are. so the boy finds information in a book in an abandoned library about what genes are and how they work. Eventually, he manages to build himself a lab and starts studying the parasite in his buddy and manages to develop a mutagen and uses it on himself. However, a misscalculation occurrs and he ends up with both the parasite's gene and his dog's, becoming a sort of a hybrid of human-dog-parasite. He becomes immortal (as long as he doesn't get his spine severed) and starts a new civilization of hybrids with a cute girl he'll eventually find and at some point all humans will become immortal hybrids, and, because they have the genes of the Good Boy Founding Titan, they will cease to be violent and will spend their days playing, chasing squirrels and licking each others' pawns. This is how Doggo saves humans from themselves.

Kinda like Ymir did in the past when she returned to the king as a Titan. However, this time we see it from this kid’s perspective and see how the armies and people of the post apocalyptic world deal with this one Titan.

This is the point where humanity will likely finally end itself from the circle of violence with the techologically advanced weapons of mass destruction, but the return of the mythical titans may be the salvation.
