Welcome to our Attack on Titan reaction!
Zeke and Eren Jaeger travel through their father Grisha's memories as Zeke attempts to show Eren that Grisha only cared about him as a tool. However, he instead sees Grisha giving Eren freedom that Zeke never had as a child. Eren's determination and willingness to fight for his freedom are things he has always had on his own. When Grisha reacts to their presence in his memories, Zeke is surprised that Grisha has not forgotten about him.
The day Wall Maria falls, they see Grisha confront Frieda Reiss in the underground chapel. Due to the vow to renounce war, she refuses to save the people of Wall Maria and insists the Eldians atone for their ancestors' crimes by accepting the world's hatred of them. Grisha reveals that he was led here by future memories he received through the Attack Titan. He plans to kill her to obtain the Founding Titan and end the royal bloodline, but falters because he does not want to murder children. Eren intervenes, and using the fact Grisha can hear him through his future memories, convinces Grisha to go ahead with the attack. Following the massacre, Grisha apologizes to Zeke, saying he was a terrible father, and asks him to stop Eren.

This story is so insanely layered & connected it’s amazing. Not since his actions in Marley has Eren been so terrifyingly determined. I still remember the fall this chapter came out in the manga 5 years ago. It blew the fandom’s mind! Eren, through the Attack Titan, has steered the story where he’s needed it to go. This is maybe my favorite type of “Time Travel” mechanic. Influencing events essentially ensures that they happen. Any “change” you make ensures that you become the cause & the effect of that action. ♾️ It’s difficult, because I don’t blame Eren for ruthlessly defending his people against a system that has violently oppressed them & continuously attacked them. However , how far he’s willing to go becomes the ultimate question.

Zeke is not recognized as much as he should. Literally all levi fan girls are acting like he is a bad guy when in reality he was better than all the worriors who where just slaves to marley doing what they ask them to do but he had his own plans and with a good intention. I still don't agree with him and honestly i support eren plan more because why should i sacrifice my self and people for this fcked up world? But still Zeke plan was better than hanji ( who had no plan just yapping) and others. to me he is my second favorite character. It's just sad his part was done too soon and people like Annie got a happy ending when she deserved it the least

Zeke wants to show that Grisha brainwashed Eren. Eren, who himself brainwashed his father: oh well.
@Usurper_ErenYeager
@Usurper_ErenYeager 3 ай бұрын
Briefly about the series: after a short session of Eren Therapy, Grisha’s psyche left the chat.😁 Zeke spent the entire episode trying to prove to Eren that he was a confused child who was brainwashed by his villainous father. But it turned out that it was Eren - a child villain who brainwashed his confused father. And now my moment of truth has come, I have been preparing for it for a long time. There will be a lot of text right now...😁 How time mechanics work in paths: The first thing to understand is that they are not technically traveling through time, Zeke is using the Progenitor's power to go through and look at Grisha's memories. This is possible because all Ymir subjects are connected to the coordinate (the Progenitor Titan) through paths that transcend physical space and time. We know that Eren and Zeke aren't really there, so how can Grisha see Zeke or be influenced by Eren? The answer is relatively simple - through the power of the Attack Titan. The Attack Titan has the ability to see memories of future hosts and this is how Grisha actually sees Zeke. Note that he only sees Zeke when Eren is standing behind him and looking at both of them, hence he is seeing Zeke from Eren's point of view and that is how he can notice his appearance or interact with him. It is also important to this that Eren realizes this after Grisha sees Zeke for the first time, as he is visibly surprised at first, but then allows Grisha to see Zeke. This is also how Eren influences him despite not being able to see him. He experiences Eren's memories of the event (hearing his words) simultaneously with his own view of the event. This also explains why his facial expression is so crazy - imagine dealing with multiple perspectives on the same events next to each other and the emotions that belong to Eren added to his own at the same time. This also brings up an interesting point regarding Attack Titan. Working with time or memories has always been his ability, it was more part of the Progenitor Titan's domain than anything else, so why does the Attack Titan have this ability? This is not 100% confirmed, but the most likely explanation is that "paths" that transcend time and space are only possible because Eren is holding both the Attacker and the Progenitor Titan together at the same time. Zeke with his royal blood really turned out to be the key that opens this path to the past. Some evidence of this idea comes from the nature of the Attack Titan itself. Attack Titan "Always moved forward in search of freedom." He fought for freedom." More than anything else, Attack Titan shows Eren's nature, his will and desire to continue moving forward and find freedom. Through this, we can see how Eren's will transcends time all the way to the first Attack on Titan, just like Eren Kruger told Grisha to save "Mikasa and Armin." For example, in this episode, Grisha states that all of the Attack Titans were brought to this memory, they all fought to get here, a time where Eren directly influences the past to go against the ideology of subjugating kings. By holding the Progenitor Titan/Attack Titan together and using Zeke as the key to unlock the Progenitor's full power, this path becomes possible and then retroactively affects all Attack Titan owners throughout time. 1) Eren deliberately showed Grisha the memories of the fall of Shiganshina and the death of the royal family in order to manipulate him. Yes, he showed that Shiganshina would fall, but he didn’t say when. 2) I repeat: Grisha does not see Eren and Zeke, and Zeke and Eren did not travel in time. The Attacker's ability to transfer memories to the previous host, and how are memories saved? From the 1st person, i.e. in all moments Grisha saw not Eren, but himself through Eren’s eyes, because... Every passing second is a memory. Simply put, Eren broadcast live from the 1st person for Grisha. Note that Eren is standing behind Grisha and Zeke when they meet (once in the basement and again at the end of the episode). Again, Grisha doesn’t see Zeke with his own eyes, he sees himself (his back) and Zeke standing in front of him, because looks at Eren's memories. The Brotherhood did not travel in time. They are in the projection of memories in real time. 3) Eren gave Grisha his memories, i.e. memories of the future. These memories became Grisha's memories (which is logical), and what did Eren get when he touched Historia's hand? Grisha's memories along with memories of the future from himself from the future. 4) Eren needs the Progenitor to pass it on to his little self through Grisha, obviously, but there is another goal. Colossi respond ONLY to the call of the “activated” Progenitor (royal blood + Titan itself), and because... Grisha took the Progenitor, then the latter fell into “hibernation”, therefore, the Colossi will not wake up even if the wall is broken through, which is what Reiner, Bertholdt and Annie did AFTER Grisha ate the Progenitor. Why did Grisha give the Attacker and Progenitor to little Eren? Most likely, simply because his term was ending, from which there was no turning back, he had to give it to someone, and also, in order not to break the chronological sequence, Grisha could no longer do otherwise. The only option to stop Eren is there, in the future, from where Zeke and Eren came to him, which is why he asks Zeke to change something/stop Eren. 3:04-3:07-3:20 - look at Grisha's face, he doesn't want to do this... In fact, he is neither a bad person nor a good one. He is the most ordinary person who just messes up, like everyone else. And he specifically screwed up his first son, that’s all. And Zeke, as a child, drew for himself an image of evil in the flesh instead of his father and remembered him that way. Children tend to divide everything into black and white... Although, again, Grisha really screwed up with Zeke. But in general, a lot of people screw up with children, so... Try to remember at least one bad moment between Grisha and Eren. He didn’t push him to go to the building. When his son asked to see him, he took him with him to see how the doctor worked, so he spent time with him... At least he understood and accepted his mistakes, but he couldn’t correct them. And the reason for this is not only the fact that he is in another country, but also the power of the Titan, which shows him Eren’s memories of the future... In short, there is no absolute evil and absolute good here. 7:40 - that's why the power had to be taken away from the royal family. The people from the island would not have survived under such rule, they would have had no chance. And Eren can also choose which memories to show to previous carriers... so HE is the main manipulator here, and not his father, as Zeke believed. Eren holds all the cards and now the main engine of the story is the cockroaches in his little head, so get ready to be completely freaked out!!!!😏🥴 Thank you very much, I love you and your reaction!

@8:36 Grisha is not able to see Eren though it appears he’s looking at him. In fact Grisha never sees Eren one time through the episode. Erens eyes are a POV for Grisha so he’s actually looking at himself and in the cave Eren deliberately avoids looking at Zeke to refrain from sending anymore visions to Grisha for fear they make him not go through with killing the family if you rewatch you’ll see Eren purposefully ignore zeke the entire time. Both because he’s listening to Frieda and trying to set things in motion. This episode is so brilliant once you discover the way the memories thing works. Eren being in Grisha past is Erens own future since it was always supposed to happen. I also love the detail that Grisha forgot that he has a mission until Eren was born then he decided to seek out the founder only after erens birth. Lot to unpack with this episode.

@@DenverSenpai yea theres a slight grey area where it seems like Grisha knows the evil future but still gives Eren the titan ability. Its like what was compelling Grisha to do that even after asking zeke "Please stop Eren" and then he literally goes to Eren which we see in Season 1 episode 2 but Grisha sounds more angry then unconsolable in that episode.
