For making this simple: the Attack Titan's owners can see the memory of their successors. It's like seeing the future. You're wright when you've said than the Owl, the guy who give Grischa his titan, saws Mikasa & Armin into Eren memories.< And during this moment who Zeek show Eren the past of his father with the Original Titan's power, litteraly the father was capable of view the memories of his son viewing him. So Eren don't talk directly to his father, his father "remember" he said this during this moment xD

About the attack titan having so much storyweight: The name of the sow in japanese is "shingeki no kyojin" which can be translated as "attack on titan", but a better translation is actually "the attacking titan". So in japan it was a huge thing back at the end of season 3 when eren kruger revealed the name of erens titan "shingeki no kyojin". Which means the show itself is literally named after this titan, which also implicates that the story is all about this titan and its owner Eren.
@Luky.735 ай бұрын
stop spreading missinformation, "the attacking titan" its not a better translation than "attack on titan". "Shingeki no Kyojin" means "the attack titan", "the attacking titan" and "attack on titan" at the same time, but depending on the context it will mean one or another. Transalting the title to "the attacking titan" prior S3P1 ending would be a non-sensed translation
@jessbellis95105 ай бұрын
@@Luky.73 Actually with the kanji that Isayama chose, "advancing" or "charging" is a better translation.
@magnuscarlsson99695 ай бұрын
@@jessbellis9510 Well that do make a lot more sense given the titans purpose ain't exactly "attacking". The purpose seems to be more in line with moving history forward, one could probably theorize forever about the titans purpose, but it would make a lot of sense that one part of the founding titan became sort of a manifestation of rebellion/breaking the status quo. I sort of see "the founder" as the "slave Ymir" while the other eight titans are simply other manifestations of "Ymir the person", the armored titan symbolizes the armor she put on in life, the jaw her ferocity and anger etc. This would in a sense lead to a scenario where when the founder and the attack titan ends up in the same vessel, Ymir herself gain the ability to be more rebellious and that's why Eren could convince her to side with him instead of blindly follow the commands of the royal family.

Kruger replies something along the lines of "who knows..? Are those even my memories?" I also think it's fair to say that the whole thing wasn't only instigated by Eren himself, but the Attack Titan.. and it's holders, who have no choice but collectively keep moving forward and destroy their enemies. Also.. if you think you don't like Eren's plans now... just you wait

A timeline he had a hand in shaping from before he was even born into this world. At Historia's coronation, the moment he kissed her royal hand, he was suddenly marching backwards into Hell with eyes forward because he is both the sheep and the shepard. He accidentally remembered the future like it was the past and channeled the full will of God, The Attack Titan, Creator of Timelines and Instigator of Shit, and it's about to all come full circle.

I wrote that comment for another reaction channel to explain what happened here. I share this with you: trust me, this is worth reading and ofc, without spoilers (also, there will not be any other explanation in the following episodes up until the end so...). Two thousand years ago, the titans were born from the powers of Ymir and in the previous episode, Zeke told us that she is a slave of the royal family for unknown reasons (at least for now). In this episode, Grisha tells us that the attack titan was created to fight the king's self-righteousness and that Frieda (the royal family) was unaware of it. In other words, Ymir would have created the attack titan behind the back of the royal family. We know that each primordial can see the memories of its predecessors (Porco seeing Marcel's memories or Armin with Bertholdt). But, in this episode, we learned that the attack titan has the power to read the memories of its future holders. This power, only Eren discovered it... When? How?. The response is simple: by mistake. When Eren kissed Historia's hand, he saw his father killing the royal family but he also saw his father chatting with Zeke and his future self. The power of the attack titan is not to see the future directly but simply to observe the memories of the next holder if this one accepts it. For example, at the end of the episode, Grisha does not see Zeke, he sees himself, facing Zeke, from Eren's point of view. You can see Eren as a camera where he can choose, whenever he wants, to share his current vision to his predecessors. Then, to "know" the future, he has to share his vision to the predecessors and then see in Grisha's memories what's going to happen. There can only be one future (obviously). So when Eren decided to share his memories, he writes history, and the future cannot change anymore, otherwise his memories could not be transmitted to others and history would change. It's fate. When Eren shows his memories, he transmits them to all his predecessors simultaneously. Now you know why Eren was saying "TATAKAE" in front of the mirror: he was actually sharing his memories and using the mirror so that his predecessors can see him. Try to imagine: the first person gets the attack titan two thousand years ago and sees Eren telling him "fight, if you don't fight, you can't win". Apart from this person, all those who inherited this titan thought they were seeing the memories of the first owner, when in fact, they were seeing the memories of the last owner of this titan. Exactly, Eren must be the last attack titan, because if there is a new one, he could share is memories to change history and that is not possible. To be precise, Grisha was also aware of the impact of the future on his time. When Eren shared his memories, by "mistake", he revealed the presence of Zeke. From this moment, Grisha start understanding the power of the attack titan. Another thing: Now, we know why Eren Kruger said "To save Mikasa, Armin, and everyone else, you must see it through.". In fact, everyone who had the attack titan knew they had to save Mikasa and Armin, but they didn't know it was future memories. -------> To be clear: the moment the attack titan was created by Ymir, the whole story was written and could not be changed. To understand how the story is written, you have to admit that the story is written from the end. Okay, so Eren wants freedom for him and his friends. When he thinks he got that freedom, he shares his memories and the past can't change. In fact: two thousand years of history has been written at that exact moment. Inevitably, we are going to the future that Eren saw, and no one can change a thing. If for example, Eren wanted to be a pizza maker (yeah...), the attack titan goal would not be to fight the king's self-righteousness with freedom, but with pizza and the history would have been different. That's because Eren wants freedom that every holder of the attack titan wanted freedom as well. Eren Kruger told us on the wall that Grisha was "chosen" to have the attack titan. In fact, this titan is transmitted each time to someone revolutionary. Indeed, if someone revolutionary has the attack titan, he will want to bequeath it to someone who shares his revolutionary ideas and that's how the titan has travelled through history to "fight" the royal line. It's funny to see that Zeke thought that Eren was being manipulated by his father, when we learn that Eren was manipulating two thousand years of history ^^. The story is actually a loop: Grisha steals the founding titan -> Grisha gives both titans to Eren -> Eren can attack Marley -> The can "kidnap" Zeke -> they can "touch" each other -> they can travel in Grisha's memory -> Eren can "contact" Grisha through memories and tell him to steal the founding titan -> ... (loop) This is the ultimate paradox of Attack on Titan. You can't find a beginning to the story except from the end. Another paradox: Eren ordered Grisha to spare Rod Reiss -> So he's going to look for his daughter (Historia) -> he will get killed by her -> She will become the new Queen of Eldia -> Eren will kiss her hand for the presentation of survey corps medals -> So he can look at his father's memories and see himself ordering to Grisha to spare Rod Reiss -> ... (loop) Here is my last point: When Zeke wanted to use his scream, Eren said "Wait!". At first sight, we can think that Eren hesitates and does not want to lose the people dear to him (Pixis for example). It's not that at all. Eren tells him to wait a second, so that Falco, his brother (Colt) and Gabi can arrive and do their dialogue. Once Zeke uses his scream, he orders Falco to "defend" Eren. That's what allows Eren's run. Also, without that little second, Gabi wouldn't be there and couldn't shoot Eren. Since Eren kissed Historia's hand, there are many details like that and I encourage you all to watch SNK again to find out more. Thanks you for reading this, it is always with great pleasure that I like to discuss this masterpiece that is SNK.

the thing a lot of people tend to assume from here is that it was either all Erens plan and/or Eren manipulated all previous attack titan shifters, which its not truth, he only could change Grishas actions due to Zeke (royal-blood) showing Eren Grishas memories, otherwise it couldnt have had happened. If we assume that everything happened on Erens will, why Eren (Kruger) knew about Mikasa and Armin? that has no answer... unless we discard that option and birng up the posibility of that its either Ymirs will or the attack titan itslef. But the funny thing is that we can theoryze all we want and both we all are wrong and right
@magnuscarlsson99695 ай бұрын
My theory is that all the nine titans are essentially "Ymir". The attack titan is just the part of her which symbolize every persons will to rebel, so that part of her have probably always wanted to break free from her own chains of servitude. What really changed however is that when the founder or should we say the obedient/subservient part of Ymir ended up in the same vessel as her rebellious side, she also reclaimed the will to rebel against the royal family and be her own person. So with this in mind there were nine sides/manifestations of Ymir all stuck in separate vessels acting independently, where as the founder remained the most powerful of them but also entirely subservient to the will of the royal family. There are many characteristics which makes up a whole human being, in Ymir's case however her strongest characteristic was that of a slave with complete obedience to the first King, her other characteristics and traits have always been extremely stunted because of that reason. The war-hammer symbolize her creativity, the armor her stoicism, the beast her primal needs, the jaw her anger and ferocity, the female her more feminine traits such as motherhood and adaptability etc. Which leads us to the attack titan, which is her rebellious side... her will to move forward and leave everything behind. This is probably why everyone who have possessed any of the titans tend to harbor similarities to what their titans tend to represent, mixed ofc. with ordinary socialization. Reiner is a great representation of this, since he have always put up an armor to shield himself from the reality around him even to such a degree it eventually fractured his mind. Ymir(person) and Porco was both kind of ferocious etc. Eren on the other hand, possess both the Attack titan and the founder, hence he became obsessed with freedom as he himself pointed out he was a slave to freedom... both of those characteristics intertwined. It also explain why memories travel between each inheritor, Ymir works as the connection or well the coordinate.

You said it yourself. The fact that Eren Kruger knew about Mikasa and Armin means that some future Attack Titan holder (either Grisha or, more likely, Eren) showed him memories of the future. Manipulation does not have to occur in such a direct manner, like when Eren actually spoke to Grisha. Most of Grisha's action that we've seen here did not stem from current Eren (the one in Grisha's memories), yet he was clearly "manipulated" to do the things that he did. He knows what's coming next, and he questions Eren if that is really going to save Eldia (so Eren made him believe that, he also did not show Grisha the death of Carla -> manipulation). Those things happened outside of the Founding Titan's abilities. In the next episode Zeke says something that just further confirms this act of manipulation. The moment the Attack Titan was born it's fate was already determined by it's last holder. It's because of what Eren did that things turned out the way they did in the end (or should I say: in the beginning?).
@Luky.735 ай бұрын
@@TheRealFFS yes but no, youre missing a tiny little thing. And thats its that Eren clearely cant use the ability of the attack titan without being in the memories, and he only can be in the memories of other eldians by Zeke (or another Fritz) showing him the memories in question. Thats why (and because Eren in the next episode says something like "-talking to ymir- its been you who were leading me here?" or some thing like that, meaning that 1. Eren wasnt the on who orchestrated it all. 2. It s most likely it was Ymir) i believe that it was Ymirs wills
@TheRealFFS5 ай бұрын
@@Luky.73 Clearly? What makes you think that? Then how did Grisha see Eren's memories of what's to come next? That's years away from Grisha's death, and therefore, it cannot occur inside Grisha's memories. And how did Kruger know about Mikasa and Armin? Because, **clearly** Zeke and Eren did not enter Kruger's memories. The Attack Titan's abilities are independent of the Founding Titan's abilities. What the combination of the two allowed Eren to do is to directly talk to Grisha via memories (in real time, so to speak), rather than just showing him future events. Good point about Ymir, but I won't get into that discussion at this point as it's not spoiler free.

I THINK THE TRUE CRAZIEST THING ABOUT THIS SHOW IS HOW EPIC IT CAN BE WITHOUT VIOLENCE! Like dragon ball z/naruto/one piece and all those top tier action animes could never EVER make a scene about talking make talking scene so engaging. Attack on titan is at minimum an action anime(but it is so much more)
@Youalrightboi5 ай бұрын
Bruh . You forgot there are so many talk scenes in naruto which are so engaging .

Hot take of the day, comparing AoT with Naruto when it comes to talking scenes.
@legendofsociety7965 ай бұрын
@@Alexszander im comparing them because of their respective popularity and cult like fan base…. I just want to say im a huge naruto fan. I personally think naruto is the best out of all of the early 2000s anime and still believe its one of the best, just one of the best behind Aot. Aot, to me, is the best anime out right now TO ME. AOT’s writer, isyama, actually respects us as his viewers. When a character is lying he doesnt tell us right away. Its up to us to understand the character or the circumstance that character is lying about. For example, armin lying to beartholdt about annie being tortured(which was a more obvious lie given they never showed examples of them actually torturing her) but you had to decipher whether it was a lie.
@legendofsociety7965 ай бұрын
@@Alexszander aot does not hold our hand. The fourth season they completely removed the third-person-omniscient aspect from its main character Multiple times the show will talk directly at us, the viewers, with a massive life lesson and then give us a literal example soon after. For example, the fat marley officer talking to us, the viewer, about how boring peace is and how watching someone die is interesting. Whats funny is you would be hard pressed to find a person that wasnt happy about him getting killed by the lean-over-titan pretty much proving he was right humans are like that
@Alexszander5 ай бұрын
@@legendofsociety796 Agreed, both are cult classics at this point but they're also fundamentally different. Naruto is more lighthearted, has more material to work with, a lot more "meaningful conversations" than AoT. AoT on the other hand is pure, undiluted pain and drama which just gets progressively worse as the series advances. Your example is probably not the best since everybody knew Annie can't be touched so it was obviously a lie.
