Spoilers for anime onlies : , lines like these and "This is freedom" and "erwin, I never regretted saving the boy who had the same look in his eyes as you" , etc,etc....makes me think that the rumbling arc was actually one of the greatest anime arcs.....but then, there are lines like "only ymir knows" and " no I don't want that, I want mikasa to have only feelings for me....." and "thankyou eren for being a mass murderer for us" etc makes me rethink over the rumbling arc being one the greatest.....its really a big missed opportunity....this arc had the potential to be the darkest and best arc of any genre, but isayama completely ruined it( although it can still be good, if anime delivers the adaptation better)

@@SuryanshPandey555 agreed, more manga spoilers below i'm still hoping for a last minute anime only ending. even seeing the eren/mikasa art bothers me, because to turn it into a mikasa eren love story last minute is upsetting to me. i know mikasa's love for him was evident throughout the whole manga, but if they had just given us moments of eren actually feeling that same love for her I could buy this ending. but instead the only time we see eren thinking about mikasa in that way is when he asks her what he is to her, and in his conversation with zeke, both VERY late in the story to show him thinking about mikasa in that way. To me, seeing pictures of eren and mikasa has so much less of an emotional impact as images like the one on Samuel's more recent video; the scouts together, with the ones they lost along the way, ymir, marco, bertholdt, sasha. The friendship between the scouts is something that was always present in this story and an important motivation for eren. To boil it down to 'i want mikasa to think about only me for 10 years', when it could have at least been about not wanting to leave his friends behind, wanting 10 more years with his friends as opposed to his final years of his short life with them being years of resentment.

That final scene from the last episode of S4P2, where the camera is pulled way back so we can see the Colossals making it to land was sickening. Such an overwhelming sense of doom and despair. This show is goddamn legendary. I'll be sad when I no longer have any new episodes to look forward to, but I'd rather it have a real ending than become a forever anime that slowly withers and makes you forget why you loved it to begin with.
