My mom is 80. She comes from a time of a lot of misinformation and almost no way to verify something that was said. I used your vid to teach her a little about Tourette. She was disgusted when I told her how the chat would trigger your tics. We’re both very happy you can enjoy this fruit again. Thank you for openly talking and sharing to help people deal, to educate people, to give us all a safe space to discuss this topic. Don’t know if you will even see this message in the mass of supportive comments, but hey, I just wanted to add to the mountain of love. Greetings from Curaçao ❤️

I'm so glad that she can finally say it! I have a whistle tic that hasn't gone away yet and I really hope it does because I have asthma and some 'friends' thought it was funny when I ran out of air. Literally wasn't funny when I had a blackout-asthma attack and woke up in the nurses office because I couldn't get to my inhaler in time. Apparently they thought I was trolling when I collapsed.

Would you trigger someone else like that? She does. Every stream. She uses ableist slurs against the mentally disabled.
@fathomhuntsmen81722 жыл бұрын
@@Lorrdd Not too sure on what you mean by this. Tics are involuntary. As in, you could try and stop them and it'll work maybe half of the time. Lots of people used to ask her why she didn't say any slurs like others with tics and it causes a chain reaction. She doesn't want to say the slur, stress when people push it, stress means she's thinking about it more, thinking about it more turns into intrusive thoughts, stress about intrusive thoughts mean more tics, and tics usually take said intrusive thoughts out for a walk, people get mad about her tics which means more stress about the intrusive thoughts, and then that means more tics. Sometimes - and I mean it by sometimes - you can tell what tic is about to happen and manage to keep it down and let it build into something physical. If it triggers you or others, stay away, or watch clips if you like her stuff. She literally can't control it. If she meant it, she would talk about said slur and enforce it, not gloss over and apologize.

It appears to me that when you get “caught in a loop” of ticks, it’s similar to a person with a stuttering problem (Former stutterer). You know yourself better than anyone and appear to now know how to possibly counteract some of the verbal ticks. Awesome!!! I wish you continued success in your life!!! 😎👍
@KamranYounis14 жыл бұрын
How did you manage to stop stuttering?
@jeffwaytiuk11704 жыл бұрын
Kamran Younis I had to learn to slow down my thought processes and think what I wanted to say deliberately. Then say it. It was like my brain was on the 3rd word of a sentence while my mouth was on the first and it caused a stutter. It seemed a bit of a disconnect from thinking to speaking. Slowing my thinking down was kinda like writing it out before saying it.
@KamranYounis14 жыл бұрын
@@jeffwaytiuk1170 Ooh, I think I have that problem too but I don't stutter alot I just talk way too fast that I'm mumbling, I haven't been 'diagnosed' or anything, how long did it take you
@jeffwaytiuk11704 жыл бұрын
Kamran Younis it took a few months. I was young when I had it (6-7 years old). I have a friend who talked fast when he was younger also. It was like after he spoke, his lips kept moving in a manner that it looked like he repeated what he just said, without sound.
@CheshieD4 жыл бұрын
In recent years, mainly when my ADHD meds are wearing off, if I talk too fast I start “stuttering.” It’s not an actual stutter but like I’ll get stuck saying things like “and and and and” or stuck like “and th-th-th-th-th” and like it’s not a slow stutter, it’s super fast. The issue isn’t even that I can’t get the words out it’s just that my brain goes from the first word of sentence one to the fifth sentence while my mouth is still mid first word first sentence. And then my brain trips and gets lost as to what I was about to say and, for some stupid reason, decides the best thing to do while it rethinks is to stall and repeat the last sound(s) I said. Like it doesn’t even happen a ton it’s just like every now and then. But jeez it’s real bad when it happens especially when I get overly excited over something
