You can visualise how the room is going to look when you've finished renovating it .Lovely repointed walls ,log burner lit and please say your going to do something with that sewing machine.What I love about you both is your never phased with all the work your doing a great job love your channel.

We're not sure what to do with the sewing machine as the actual machine currently won't turn. It's very rusty and looks like a few bits are broken and missing. A couple of neighbours have very similar machines. Maybe once the house renovation is over, something may happen to it. It has lovely inlay in the wooden top and case.

Still binge watching my way through your videos. Some observations: 1. You both are judicious in your decisions about how to restore and renovate the house, 2. As I'm sure you both know better than anyone else, you make a great team. 3. It appears to me over the course of the videos I've watches so far, you are both in better shape physically and better shape mentally.

Like many who take on renovations, we are just DIY novices, with barely a clue. We were just up for a new adventure and fortunately we have had a fair amount of fun along the way. We recommend the experience and slower rural way pace of life to anyone willing to take the leap. Have faith in your abilities.

So happy your not sanding the beams. Too many people strip away the guts of these lovely, old houses. Another lovely video, think I'm hooked & wish they were longer . ♥️

Plenty of work to do. We haven't even decided on a theme for the room yet.

The proof is in the pudding...isn't it!!! Lime is such an incredible thing...such an antient thing and still the best. The salon will be a lovely room. I really enjoy your channel, watched you at Ted and Lesa's yesterday - at the pointing class. Be sure to take your time and take care of yourselves as well as you are the house.

Ted and Lesa are lovely. We love going over there for a chat and their music nights. We're so glad they have their bedroom finished at last. That pointing class really saved us, we don't know what we would have done without it. Moving to France was the best thing we ever did and changed my life.

So interesting to learn why the room had a musty smell. Interesting what you found in the sewing machine drawer - I noticed the "Singer" card in the box. Thanks, I enjoyed.
@ourfrenchrenovation Жыл бұрын
It was a Pastilles du Docteur L. Guyot tin with two packets of singer needles. The sewing machine is a L A Prevoyante. A couple of our neighbours have identical machines, so I assume at some point a local shop sold them.

ok. so you will repoint the walls, and get the log burner going, and add lines for electricity for a potential tv... this might take a while...

We have a TV at last! Woo Hoo! Our lounge is warm and cozy and we are taking some time off. Bliss.

What a job. I am so glad you have removed the plaster. Repointing will also stabilize the wall, won’t it. Will you leave one wall as a stone feature wall. Are you keeping the wood burner. It is really pretty. Have a good week.
@ourfrenchrenovation Жыл бұрын
I think we will leave the front wall lime mortared, but for the rest of the room we simply haven't decided yet. We need to put the chimney liner back in, as we removed it during repairs. There are also some parts for the burner on their way coming from the UK.

I know you did your kitchen (great job) but do you have cement on the walls in that room?
