Putting men shoulder to shoulder forms a phalanx and that's what the game was suggesting, it even has the backline function of the spearmen.

It's ok if it was a toggleable option, because i know that a lot of people will like using the mouse, but i prefer it like this hahaha

Would be way too easy. Using directional keys to shuffle guys around franticly and having to deal with the fact that you move through one unit to get to the next is the fun!
