It kind of just seems like you're not really into the fundamental idea behind UFO 150. A big part of it seems to be trying to really get that feeling that you're back in the 80s playing some old school styled games. They're not supposed to be modern games just wrapped in retro aesthetics.

You make a good observation, so I thought about it for a while. I'm aware of the intent and they succeed 100%, I do appreciate the artistry and talent involved. I'm a lot more lenient with criticism because of it. But it doesn't affect my actual enjoyment of the games, because a bad game design choice is bad whether it was intentional or not. UFO 50 design limitations hobble some of these great games - though, admittedly, I wouldn't be trying them out in the first place if they weren't part of UFO 50. It's extra silly in this case, because mice were around in the 80s. Add a message saying "this game requires the LX2 mouse peripheral to play! (Sold separately)" and the entire problem is solved. The artistic intent is getting in the way of good gameplay I say

@@ElBlargho I remember playing the MacVenture games adapted to the NES. Playing Shadowgate with an NES controller wasn’t exactly convenient, but the game itself was worth the struggle. The same can be said about Deja Vu and The Uninvited. Of course, I can totally understand because you have a mouse available when playing this. It seems like a major oversight for the developers to not utilize the most intuitive tool at your disposal. There were plenty of these style of games for PC in the 80’s and 90’s! The Tex Murphy games, House of Wax, Dark Seed, Gabriel Knight, I Have No Mouth And I Must Scream… I get the frustration when something has the makings of an amazing game and it’s held back by one design flaw.

It is kinda not true. Quote from game page: "Our goal is to combine a familiar 8-bit aesthetic with new ideas and modern game design." I'm pretty sure, that basically was the idea - to provide you with modernised take on retro-games.

Before point and click became the standard you would type text commands. These type of games were never suited to a controller or arrow keys and forcing you to do that on a pc in 2024 is very silly

I have a soft spot for these point-and-click adventure games. I’d love to see you finish it.

Nah, they are boring as hell. I'd love to see some more Spelunky action instead 🤪

I'm pretty sure that making a point-and-click game with keyboard controls is one of the deadly sins

Complaining about the controls huh? Back in my day we played Shadowgate on an NES controller and we liked it because it was that or use the Powerpad. Loving the series!

I really liked this one and had a lot of fun cherry-ing it!

Blargho, if you like point and click games you should definitely try out Tormentum Dark Sorrow, fantastic artstyle with a pretty interesting premise.

Would not be surprised if there was a mod out that let you use the mouse.

Hi Blargho, I was wondering why you don't record your gameplay when you gild or cherry some games. Love your content, keep it up.

Thanks for your attention span! Doing commentary is a dedicated high-mental-resource endeavor that I need to set time aside for, and I only get maybe 10 hours a week to do it; whereas just playing the games can be done here and there on a whim whenever there's free time...

@ElBlargho Oh, I totally get that. Would be nice if you got to record some games you revisited from time to time though!
