We get to Dragy test out our 0-60 driving skills this time in our cheap high mileage MK3 Focus RS. The car should be running at least 345hp but we have found out that it could actually be Mountune mapped so that would produce 375hp. This should push the car to 60 in around 4.5 seconds. Ben won last time in the RS4 Dragy challenge but only by 4/100 of a second. Is this time for Lee to get his own back?

The best 0-60 on the Focus RS is in 2nd, don't change up to third just floor it and let it reach 60 in second gear!

I've seen videos of people testing the 0-60 in the RS before and I think you can hit 60 at the top of 2nd gear

Launch control can be brutal on the driveshafts eventually, remember when Calvin's driveshafts went on his Audi RS6 with a launch control vid

I've had 3.82 with mine. No tune. Start in Track mode, side step clutch, flat change to 2nd, flash main beam and put heater on max as you hit 60. Works every time. Fold in mirrors and put wipers vertical for 3.2 seconds.

I watched your Torque steer video, you're using the wrong tyres. You've got Pilot Sport 4, and Pilot sport 4S is what you need (car comes with Super Sports and 4S replaced the Super Sports.

Put it in track mode and launch it, that’s what I’ve found the best, dump the clutch and flat shift between first and second that will get the time down

launch should be from 5200rpm....not 4500

My standard rs did 0-60 in 4. 8 with me on my own.. it’s now 400bhp and does it in 4.5

Get rid of that focus RS! They feel so stressed when doing quick launches and still not very quick. I sold mine due to duff handling, ok in the wet, but not a great car.

Marc M The horrific torque steer is well documented. Doesn’t seem to be a fix to be honest.Much prefer a car where you have some control over where it goes rather than one climbing a hill, the rear drive drops out and suddenly massive torque steer.

well we saw in one of your videos the audi S3 being nearly 1 second slower to 60mph than the constructor's indicated time when loaded with passengers and in sub optimal weather conditions. So the focus rs times make perfect sense i would say. also comparing it with the S3 it is 200 kg heavier than S3 and only 50bhp (20-30 bhp maybe in reality) more power plus a hot summer day, seems like a normal pattern of performance variation. superb driving machine though, reference in its segment.

Hiya mate, you said in your previous video about the car dipping revs when idling which was also the case with mine when I had it remapped. I had the car mapped and it blew the crankcase hose off, obviously the revs were going crazy high when in idle until I fixed it back on. It took a few months for the car to level itself out again but haven’t had the problem since

Hey guys, funny as hell. Keep it up. A Mountune mapped RS will have the launch control activated without the Ford driver assist menu. Start the car, rev it up with the clutch in and see. Also, you can choose 1 of 4 map slots with the Cruise Control button. Hit CrCtl cancel then use the Set up and down buttons to choose slot 1-4. At a Stop, the tach will go from 1k-2k-3k-4k depending on what map you choose. - Standard high performance calibration - Standard high performance calibration with indicated Launch Control and Flat Foot Shifting - Low boost performance calibration - Same as Slot 1 with LESS spark (aka panic mode / bad fuel mode) That will tell you if you have a Mountune RS. Let us know.

that's only if you have the M380 I think - the FPM375 doesn't have that functionality. M380 would have a tuning handset with it so it's most likely the FPM375. If you have an OBD2 reader you can look up the map revision quite easily - google search for the 375 map code to check.

Siye Boss I’m a car fan I love all cars and they all have there unique things.. I picked the rs over all of the other hot hatches purely because of the RS badge and history and theres not that many knocking about.. Also mines 2018 and I’ve not had any problems with mine no head gasket issues nothing.. it runs absolutely perfect.. and yes mate it comes to life on the B roads 😁😎

Wonder how it’d fair up against the RS3 on a rolling. I did see a video on here of a FRS mk3 blow away an e92 m3 1/4 mile, literally left it standing...

Ha! 😂. To be fair, I know what you mean, they’ve not fast out of the box the mk3’s. They need more BHP! I’ve been restoring a 2001 Impreza P1 over the last few years and it’s brutal in comparison, it does weight a lot less though..!

I've had 4.02 to 60 in my RS running 420bhp. I had the mountune 375 map previously and the best I got way 4.54. I think you should try again on a colder day. Or get the car dyno'd to see if it really is 375. I noticed in one of your previous videos that the car didn't have the mountune intake which should be fitted with the 375 map.

@@JonathanTyas launched mine plenty of times without an issue. Ive owned mine from new (June '17) and done 27k. Its never been back to the dealer for any warranty work at all. The poor reliability is completely over hyped imo. If you read what people write on the internet you'd think these things break every 5 minutes 😂.
