The T.50 is a well designed road car. This car is much easier to design as although it may be road legal is in no way a car for everyday use on the road. So props to Gordon Murray for what he did, not so impressed with the Valkyrie which is hideously compromised unless all you want to do is take it to the track. In which case why not look at an RB17?

Horrid as a road car. Can't race it. Worst of both worlds. Of the tiny number of people with both the money to buy it and the ability to exploit it, can't see them going for it. It'll go to the usual trophy hunters who will do about three track days in it surrounded by paid lackies who will massage their ego and tell them how wonderful their driving is, and then it won't turn a wheel again. Going by the looks of the new RB supercar, it also seems like Newey is no Murray when it comes to conceiving road cars. The fact that he's probably F1 best ever aerodynamicist doesn't mean he's good at designing an enjoyable road car. All the evidence is that he's not.

A lot of bad comments from people who don't understand this car. Here are some facts you need to know 1. This car is a road legal version of a racing car, so of course it is uncomfortable and noisy. This is a racing car. 2. This car will participate in the WEC next year in the LMH class, and the fact is that the car that will participate is actually a downgraded version of this car. (WEC hypercar that is currently running has BoP regulations) 3. Adrian Newey is the person who designed this car. 4. Fernando Alonso and Max Verstappen own this car. So if you think you know more about cars than Alonso and Verstappen, and you think you can build a better car than Adrian Newey, then please continue your ugly comments. (I know that most of you don't even know who Adrian Newey is, and don't know what LMH and BoP are).

If Alonso and Verstappen own this car and Newey designed it, it makes a good car?😂) Man, cut the crap)))

Smart people can design something technically incredible that still turns out to have been made with misguided intentions that don't end up making sense in the real world. On paper, this looks like a good idea. In CAD software, this looks like a good design. However, it's only once you put it all together that you realize that they wasted their time making it road legal because the noise is SO atrocious that you'll get hearing damage without serious ANC Headphones. Although, they did sell them all, and that's really all the company cares about, so I guess the only waste in this case was on the part of the customers that thought they wanted this or would like it.

@@moogle68 Yeah, they decided to built it because rich people will buy them

Sure newy may build great cars and verstappen and alonso are great drivers and this doesn't affect them because they are used to it in the grid but this car sounds absolutely awful,, they should have just built it for tracks and made it better sounding ,,it's just not it car for streets and regular driving ,,not everyone is a race car driver ,,for millions of dollars to spend there are far better cars than whatever this is .

I love that ‘Alternator-whine-through-a-Marshall stack-in-a-metal-trashcan-tumbling-down-concrete-steps’ sort of sound.

imagine having to push "start" three times in your Toyota before it actually starts. You'd bring it to the garage.

I had a 996 gt3 that made the similar rattles and noises. Always sounded broken until you ripped on it.

there are cars that define a car era/generation. the Valkyrie feels to be this era's car that will be relevant in 20 years. AKA the McLaren F1

Unfortunately Valkyrie hasn't done any meaningful laptimes.

Jethro is absolutely the right person to objectively review this car. Good to understand how it performs on the road even though it appears so extreme.

Superb, such a great piece. Love JB's take, watched him for years on various platforms. He's excellent at conveying how the car drives, how the engine feels (loved the details on what RPM it was breaking traction) and general info. His reactions were telling, he's usually pretty low-key, says it all. Aston should donate one to some kind of 'track day experience' so we can all have a go :D

The problem with this car poor maintenance services and delivery delay also over expenses... This car good for people who keeps it as collection rather race enthusiasts who wish to drive everyday

I’m certain the noise would get old really REALLY fast

This. This is Top Gear. After watching One For The Road, I thought it was the end of an era -- but clearly it was just the end of a chapter. Jethro + Harris + Henry Catchpole; maybe less shenanigans like in the early days of TG; but extraordinary machinery, amazing locations, breathtaking cinematography, crisp editing, something educational (engineering, military, technology, art, culture,). And you're done, it would be the most compelling content.... In the world.
