Nicely done! I've never taken part in the Winter Run but it seems like a great event. I hope you'll enjoy and will be able to run most of the course!

Fantastic run Shara, sensibly building the miles and another very coordinated outfit 👌 This should have given you some confidence with the upcoming race 💪

Great running, good on you Shara! I strongly recommend negative splits for Parkrun. I ran 25.54 last Feb, first sub 26 in 5 years and I did the first 2.5k in 13.08 and the second in 12.46. The previous Xmas day Parkrun 2023 I ran 26.08 and my splits there were 13.18 and 12.50 Of course it depends on things like the course, wind direction etc, but on the whole, not going crazy the first half allowed to have much more of a kick in the last 2km. On both occasions my first km was actually 5.25 - very modest, steady start but then build through the run. Certainly worked for me. Give it a go! Take care 😊

@@DeeJay_78 thank you for your suggestion. I'll certainly try that, although the temptation to go too fast at the start is a very real issue 😬

@@SharaRuns I know, it does take serious discipline to hold back early on, especially if you feel good, but it just seems to work for me. I am more of a 'come from behind' type of runner than 'go hard early and try hang on'. Give it a go, there's always another week to try again if it doesn't work. I look forward to seeing your coverage of the next Parkrun!

I can't wait for the London Winter Run video. That'll be a fun one if there's 20.000 people running, holy.

practicing running form is a good idea to help with injury prevention I do a form and foot strike run at least once a month helps with endurance and efficiency, next you can run to the coast 😁

Well done! Go to Kings Lynn,put tape over the watch so you can't see it and go for it,I've done it a few times and surprised myself with my time.

I've been considering wearing a wristband over my watch so will probably do that at some point 👍🏻
@douglasbarber50610 күн бұрын
@SharaRuns just try it once and see how you get on,I've found that by not seeing the pace my time improved as I wasn't easing back when the watch said i should.
