I’m so happy to see you fighting back with the anxiety monster! It’s hard but so necessary especially when a good part of it is chemistry and not directly under your control. I’ve seen anxiety steal so much of a person’s life bit by bit in efforts to avoid the objects of anxiety but they keep changing and advancing until they consume a life and leave a person a quivering shell who can’t leave their house-it is so insidious! It is heartbreaking. Good for you, God bless all your big efforts to be an over comer!!!

Thank you, Penny! What an encouraging and validating comment to read! What you shared is heart-breaking. I can see how easily that could happen. In my experience, the only way to work through anxiety is to move through it and face it. It's such a hard treatment, but it works. Thank you again for cheering me on!

Way to go, Kelly! It brings me so much joy to see you move through anxiety and feel the amazingness of doing the thing with anxiety in tow. It’s encouraging for me to continue making brave decisions in my own journey. I’m so glad you got your library card. That’s really exciting! 💜📚

So happy for you enjoying your outing. New subscriber here. I also have Cptsd. I don't know whether you would find listening to Tanja Windeggar's youtube presentations helpful, I find them really excellent. I've just been searching for a beautiful Beatrix Potter picture of the wee character with the same name as our baby that died several decades ago... some things you just never get over. I didn't find one as nothing was quite good enough! Needs to be beautiful words, quality paper... He's always in my heart. I listened to you speaking of your own baby dream grief just yesterday and felt your pain. Prayers!

That is wonderful you've found Tanja's presentations so helpful! My heart goes out to you for the loss of your baby. I'm so sorry. I hope you find the picture you are looking for. Thank you for your empathy for the grief I have had over not being able to parent. Grief is a process, isn't it? And it ebbs and flows in intensity. Saying a prayer for you right now for your journey with the loss of your little one. Warm hugs to you.

A couple of questions; you’re always so good about responding. CPTSD? I know about PTSD, and have a friend, a veteran, who suffers from that, owing to a particularly heinous battle overseas. If I may ask, what has led to your variant? Hope I’m not prying in any way; this is the first I’ve encountered the “C”. Also, how cold is cold enough to put a coat on your faithful companion? I’ve heard numbers all over the place. Is your breed particularly intolerant to 🥶? Congratulations on getting out and about. I applaud every time you accomplish something.

Hi Ginger. I do not talk publicly about what led to my CPTSD diagnosis. The World Health Organization's ICD-11 diagnostic criteria defines Complex PTSD as the following: "Complex post traumatic stress disorder (Complex PTSD) is a disorder that may develop following exposure to an event or series of events of an extremely threatening or horrific nature, most commonly prolonged or repetitive events from which escape is difficult or impossible (e.g. torture, slavery, genocide campaigns, prolonged domestic violence, repeated childhood sexual or physical abuse). All diagnostic requirements for PTSD are met." For me, when to put a coat on my dog is about making a judgement call based on experience. Since dogs can't talk to us and tell us they are cold, it is about trial and error through observing their behavior. I don't think anyone should put a coat on their dog based on the temperature because there are other factors like wind or protection from precipitation that may come into play and also different dogs have different tolerances. Thank you! It was very exciting to go on these outings! :)

Why are you anxious? I find I can be more anxious to go shopping alone because I spend so much time home alone, and it takes a lot of work for me to go out. What brand is the harness?

The anxiety I have is from C-PTSD. My heart goes out to you that shopping alone after spending so much time alone at home makes you more anxious. The harness is Bold Lead Designs.

Oh wow! How neat you are a Texan AND former librarian! Thank you on behalf of everyone who like me were impacted by librarians who helped develop our love for books! I have vivid memories of my elementary school librarian talking about specific books to our class, reading books to us and falling in love with them. I'm sure you have impacted people in ways you don't even know! I lived in The Woodlands back when it was just being developed.
