Attempting To Break A 15 Year Old BMX Guinness World Record

Matty Cranmer has always wanted to hold a Guinness World Record and today he is attempting to break a 15 year old BMX record that is "The most bearskins on a BMX bike in 1 minute" and this turned out to be more difficult than he imagined it would be!

What are the rules ? Does the Frontwheel need to touch the ground after each barspinn or can you do double or maybe coaster it and let the bars spin ?

I was thinking the same thing. I used to ride around in a circle and just let my bars spin around endlessly. Would be close to or over hundred.

its so interesting, the geometry of my old S&M trail frame turned park bike just WILL NOT allow pull up barspins. the bottom bracket just sits too high, BUT one foot on one peg, other foot on pedal I could pull up barspin going 30mph down a hill, my friends thought I was Craaazyyy lol. and I could never to a barspin airing or fly out. but pull up bars (with one foot on peg) I was the king 🤣🤣

If someone was to use: narrow TI bars, find a road with a slight downhill to not have to maintain rolling speed as much, clips, a front front wheel with half the spokes, carbon rim, TI fork super narrow tire and all TI hardware Just saying, those variables would probably get 10 more spins in.

You jhave to do it ahead of time. The process takes forever. I have dealt with Guinness first hand and this is not acceptable. Sorry guys. Every time Scotty says” I assume” there is an issue. It has to be exact and precise. When Jim did it with a nitro circus the had an Judge there. That costs about 15k dollars to do. I know so much about this because I have the same thing with the Unofficial World Record Fastest Fakie of 17.7 mph.

I don’t know if they owned it completely or not though. This was an older video that Scotty explained it.

The trick is to stand one foot on the back peg, and one on the pedal, now you have a light pull to unweight the front of the bike, and you can easily bang out a ton more bars spins this way. Maybe even 80.

Scott! Get a manual machine, mountain bikers make them to learn manuals so they don't fall. It would be perfect to get the motion down. You could make a video of Matty building it and you using it.

I found manual machines bizarre as you can't push the wheel forward underneath you to help balance. Tried and found an empty car park to be much better
