Really puts in perspective just how many tiers above these elite runners are above the average runner. Good video :)

Another thing to put into perspective. The world record for 400 meters (one lap around the track) is 43.03 seconds. Yeah.

That's a cool camera angle. It really makes you appreciate 1080p . I might try it today but a 64 (68) second lap sounds pretty damn fast.

THIS IS 100! Can you do a mile at that pace? Also, how'd u get the overhead shot? Really cool.

Man, Logan's long shadow at 1:13 looks so silly. Oh and get those Nike shoes and you could totally do it within 60 seconds because of the 4% improvement. What other things can I advertise for Nike that seems totally legit? :D

Lee Thomas okay my bad then. 64*0.96=61.44, 64-61.44=2,56 seconds difference. Happy? Edit: Guess me trying to make a witty comment about Nike's Breaking2 Advertisement flew right over your head.

Nice vid! It's actually pretty easy for most average runners...for 400m. Now just try it for 1000m!

Well, you run faster than I can. Maybe next video you do two laps?
@MrBrian-fq4lr7 жыл бұрын
He didn't have two laps in him at that pace. Form was falling apart and he was struggling at the end. Not bashing him. Two laps at that pace would make for a decent 800m. 2:08 would be competitive for a lot of small middle/high schools around the country. Nevermind couch potatoes, a lot of casual/recreational runners couldn't hit that mark if they weren't training for it.

Weird place to start your lap if you're gonna run a 400m. Also dang, it's time for some new shoes lol. Look at the bottoms of those things lol. Anyway yeah, good video, short but to the point. Most people never see these elite runners in person and have no perspective of how fast they're really moving because video doesn't do them justice (I suppose that would even be the case with _this_ video, better just to start a hashtag challenge and make people get out and try it themselves lol). I bet most people couldn't even do the one lap under 70 seconds*. But then to realize those elite runners are hitting around that time for over 26 miles is bonkers. I remember watching Breaking 2 and seeing their 5k splits tick by, 14's and stuff, I was like O_O *Cue some cocky little kid coming in and telling me how slow that is. If you run track, I agree, but most people don't run at all, and instead spend all day sitting on their butts at work and home, and they're going to struggle to hit that mark.
