The thing is, Dream flies in a straight line (not in this water clutch only) and simply stops pressing w when his crosshair is at the right place, while You attemt to steer mid-air, which makes is so much harder for You, also You can't triangulate the perfest moment to release w, since each of Your flights is different.

It’s all in the training :) in Dream’s alt stream he had his mic off and was just practicing clutches, pvp, parkour etc. He did really bad in the beginning but after awhile he was able to have consistent success :D He even has a server coded for manhunt training like being able to craft quickly by knowing the recipes through memorization!

That wasn’t the clutch part, everybody knows how a flying machine works. Dream accidentally broke his boat and had to jump along with the flying machine then place the boat on top and row the boat forward with the machine, that was the clutch part

But if u really watch dream especially his alt streams where he practice manhunts and even have his mic off then constantly failing at the beginning then after some time he finally got the trick. He even made a server and coded it for it to be manhunt Practice server. Watching purple and jesster execute these crazy plays just proves that it took a lot of skills and practice to perform the clutches

Trick for each one: #1: Try going for the waterline on the village farm vertically. This way you only need to adjust the smallest amounts & that way you don’t overshoot/undershoot too much. #2: Predict where the ghast might move towards. So you’re not just guessing/trying to go for the closest one at that moment that is moving away from you. #3: Place the boat on the piston on the front-right of the flying machine. This way you don’t have to keep paddling cause the observer behind it keeps it locked in place.

I have to say, I’m glad to see that these plays have been proven reasonably possible. I want to think that the manhunts aren’t faked, but after he admitted to the speed running cheating, it’s hard to trust.

The first one wasn't as impressive since at the start of every manhunt Dream gets infinite lives until he lasts too long (he explained how manhunts work in a post), so the start CAN be rehearsed (nothing wrong with that), while the rest isn't

He did all of them first try, not because he prepared to do these things, but because the conditions allowed for him to make those plays. He only made that water clutch because he was boosted twice, Ant and Sapnap each hit him once. The Ghast clutch happened since the Ghast was in the right place at the right time. And the last one he was in the proper spot to ride the flying machine in the boat.

great vid btw. it just shows how much dream practiced for the manhunts and looked for game mechanics that he can use. the ghast riding on the other hand is about 80-90% luck. if the ghas had changed direction even 2 secs before he landed on the ghast, it might've been different. so its fair to say it is 'possible' coz ofc dream pulled it off but what took skill was the boat flying and the timing of when to jump off.

Tbh look at the first jump, there’s plenty of water and dream has time to decide what to do. Why would he jump off the cliff where there no water except the small one from the village instead of the waterfall? Ghast aren't a "touchable entity" but boat are since they're a tool so both entities can actually touch each other, the ghast will likely react like water to the boat, so yeah.... Ghast riding is real baby.
