Tom! for future reference you can swap out the batteries inside your airtag! just hold it with two hands, put a thumb on either side of the apple logo, and twist counterclockwise and the cover will come off! it uses a CR2032, which is normally the same kind of battery you find in most car keys (and reverse the process to put the cover back on (it has little slots for the metal tabs to line up with)
