I seem to recall that ninjas couldn’t run on water so it doesn’t surprise me that this myth was busted. Also I was shocked that when it came to the flimsy wooden table it wasn’t the shockwave that’d kill you but the splinters as the shockwave turned the table into toothpicks

Also the basilisk lizard is a whole lot lighter than a human in addition to having fringes on large hind feet and a tail if those adaptations were to work for a human they’d have to have super speed to stay on top of the water
