I know it's been a while since I posted a video, but I'm ready to get back into it. That being said, if you have anything you'd like me to 'attempt' to fix for nothing more than the cost of shipping (and necessary major parts) please reach out to fixmorewasteless@gmail.com. Let me know what the issue is and I'll let you know if I can help!

To replace vram on a gpu, what kit do I need. I own a soldering iron and going to buy a micro screwdriver set. I believe I need to buy a hot air station, what else (including accessories like tweezers, flux, etc.)?

Thanks for the tips on using the cheap hot air station! I have that piece O crap and mainly enjoy it for heat shrink.

Nice one, think that is a fair assessment. I like Hiyua stuff but I'm going to save up for the Atten this time, cheers.😀

One of the major issues with the Yihua 959D is the the intake for the blower fan in the handle is extremely restrictive. On my wand i just cut it all out so there's a huge rectangular hole. Doing that and also calibrating the station really ups the performance of the station.

Those are great tips. Yeah I found the fan on mine to be pretty weak. Even on max air speed it just didn’t feel like it was pushing out a lot of air.

@@FixMoreWasteLess Take a look at the intake, you'll see that a lot of the holes are blocked. I just use a box cutter and a flush cutter to cut them all out and calibrate the station. Once you do that, it will start to remove those mosfets just as quick as the other station.

@@FixMoreWasteLess with the air gun where the fan is in the handle, if you want it to be as good as your air gun where it has a blower in the unit, you need a board heater. Preheat to 120-150°c sometimes up to 200°c, then finish it off with the hot air. If you don't believe me watch Northwestrepair on here. In his older videos, he uses a fan air gun to lift GPU cores. Kind of a handy piece of information. Especially since heating elements of the so called "blower" air guns are twice as expensive as buying a new handle for the 959d and only last 6-9 months depending on how heavily you use it.

Wishlist that Atten. It's nice. I have a Yihua but I'm ready to upgrade

This sums up to the fact that hot air stations with a fan in the handle are worthless..... I wonder if there is any cheap hot air station with pump/diaphragm available out there

as i see on your board, it is old and the solders are that hard and cold. When using the cheap hot air gun, one thing you can do is apply new solders on the legs and use a smaller noozle then increase the blow gradually, adjust to max 900 deg F, The ICs will come off quicker.

Yes, the YiHUA can do the job. But, in taking over three times as long to do it, it is subjecting the board and surrounding components to high heat stress for a long time, which could lead to further failures. Most components have specifications for soldering temperature and time at that temperature, and the times are in tens of seconds, not minutes!

I find in the beginning of you use a fresh bead of solder or liquid flux with solder, it comes off rather quick. There is also low temp solder for just this very purpose. I've needed these techniques with better stations than both of these repairing military equipment.

is your Atten hot air station enough for doing BGA type of work?
@FixMoreWasteLess3 ай бұрын
I haven’t used it for doing BGA work yet but I’ve seen others who are better at this than me use the Atten to do it.

Please point the fkn air below the chip not on the chip it will make alot faster.You want to melt the solder not the chip.
