That passport activity ya'll came up with is GENIUS!! Not only is it a fun activity for attendees, but it also increases traffic to the participating vendors AND gives more attention to the USARK effort which benefits all of you!! So a running joke in our family is the phrase, “Mom! Where’s the…..?” because we moms have magical abilities to find stuff that no one else can see. (One son thinks I just have the ability to make things appear at will). Emily’s mom being the one to find the puzzle without the piece totally verifies this theory 😂😊

I don't think people realize how huge they're going to get when they buy them as babies. They need so much more than most people give them.
@houndgirl7365 Жыл бұрын
@@heather486I mean they don't get huge in the terms of lizards, but you are right they need more than generally given; the bare minimum is a 4x2×2 sized enclosure (though honestlythey should be given more space). A large species would be a monitor or a tegu (though blue tegus and gold tegus don't get big they certainly need a larger enclosure than say a beardie. The issue with bearded dragons is people generally aren't informed and generally see 'gateway animal' into the reptile community. Can they be great starters? Yes, but honestly a leopard gecko, cave gecko, or even a pink tongue skink would be more beginner friendly.

I think tying string/sisal in a bow (like a present) around the puzzles would be super cute. It would help stop the boxes from opening but doesn't need extra plastic or require tape which could rip the box. Plus it's biodegradable/reusable.
@liepadmukauskaite1355 Жыл бұрын
very true and eco friendly, but the problem is that the puzzles pieces get in the openings and just slide out of the box, so I think the best way still be to put the puzzle pieces in a plastic or paper bags inside the box.

I have not tried that particular black currant drink from 17:04, but black currant is a very popular flavor in Europe. If you're expecting its own unique flavor, then it's good, I think. It's kind of like how cranberry juice is a non-typical fruit flavor and most people would not like it if they took a sip of cranberry juice while expecting it to taste like apple juice. I can imagine, though that black currant would taste really weird (and possibly like tomato sauce) after having just sipped a very sweet mango drink.😅 Fun fact: currants used to be widespread in the US too, and Americans were used to the flavor. But then there was a concerted effort to remove all the currant bushes in the country as much as possible, because they were helping to spread a White Pine Blister Rust disease to our pine trees. The lumber industry was much more important to the US than it was to the EU by the time this disease was spreading, so the US prioritized the trees, and the EU prioritized its food traditions. There're some interesting YT videos on that part of history.

Fun fact - blackcurrant is a really popular drink flavour in the UK because during WW2 when we were blockaded we couldn't import much fruit so we grew blackcurrants as they grew well in the climate in the UK and are a good source of vitamin C, so they made concentrated blackcurrant juice drink so the kids could get vitamin C. So a whole generation of Brits grew up drinking blackcurrant squash. :)
