@@creativesolutionstoart I'm relatively new to actively needing this level of help. I know in the real terms, that I'm likely done for life, but yeah, the various clinical trials I hear about are a hell of a tease, that I get the sense never go anywhere. I heard about one from the University of Pittsburg this past summer that 'might' start some time, but I bet I never hear anything about it again, and I get the sense this is the norm for this stuff.

Ryan, this update video was way better than I expected. Great information and attention to detail. Thanks for taking the time to emphasize things we may have missed. I find it very interesting that the NeuraLink team is using lab grown cerebral organoids. This is fascinating to me. It’s also a company on its own. Understanding the human body to the point of possibly creating “replicants”. Not clones but close enough that the data returned can be interpreted as human. I know it sounds like I’m just spewing sci-fi “fan boy” stuff but I’m completely serious. There’s a separate company within NeuraLink by way of these “organoids”. Anyway, great video and thanks again.

The video is great, love it. I watched the whole presentation when it was online. I am happy to see the humane issues are well taken care of. This whole thing brings up a couple thoughts. One, is it's too bad I'm not about 30 years or so younger. I would have loved to been in the program. The biggest issue I would have had being broadly knowledgeable about many disciplines, but never focused on a particular one. On the other hand, I am quite able to dive deeper into most any subject or discipline. The second thought is that one day, maybe a younger version of myself, one might actually use the strategy of receiving the implant for an increased rapid stream of knowledge to further the science of neural implants beyond what a human can do now. Much like I expect the Tesla bots to one day soon be able to offset labor costs and increase production for Tesla, and bots maybe building bots; the neural link may be one day used to help increase the ability to scale and iterate the neural technology much faster than would have been possible for humans to do without the implants. So, don't be surprised if one day Elon's companies began exploding the pace, tech and scale of manufacturing at a seemingly impossible rate. DOJO (AI), Neural Link equipped humans and bots working together just might be a thing in the foreseeable future. Just a thought...

To put this in perspective 1080p, the lowest of what is considered "high definition" is 64x more resolution than what someone might see with two quad core neuralinks as they suggested in the video. In order to see 1080p, you would need to have to have 128 of even these neuralinks installed and all of the electrodes put into the visual cortex. Obviously this is impossible. Try to imagine putting 128 quarters on your head. That's just how much space it would take up in your skull. The idea of getting all of those 2 million electrodes into the visual cortex without crossing wires and inserting them in relevant locations is completely beyond the scope of possibility. Currently their plan is to match each electrode with one pixel of an image. This makes perfect sense as a first step but eventually the key to better images will be to allow each electrode to create the appearance of dozens if not hundreds of pixels. This may or may not be possible in the foreseeable future. The other possibility would be to allow only a few pixels to quickly draw a much larger image. Similar to the way CRT televisions and monitors operated where a single pixel was drawn at a time but electron guns were used to rapidly draw images, one pixel at a time across a screen but doing so 60+ times a second. Either way we are a very long way away from creating a image inside a persons mind that is anywhere near the resolution of a smart watch to say nothing of a smart phone or high def television. What the future will bring, only time will tell. Maybe by the time we figure out how to download images into our brain it will just be easier to upload our mind to the computer instead. This is approximately what 32,000 pixels would look like. gyazo.com/a2a067768f958cf54b58236b524d837d

honestly the lack of concern about the risks of this all is alarming....any system can be hacked especially one designed to interract with other systems and given that neurolink acts as a middle man between computers and our brain (which is basically a biological computer) that pretty much puts it in that classification. meaning anyone with the nohow could literally hack neurolink and there for "hack" your brain (to a degree)

@ Justin. If you are thinking along those lines there you are a "conspiracy theorist". Sounds like a very harsh label to put on to someone until you know about topics such as 1. microwave hearing, voice to skull, voice of God (look for the patents online) 2. Remote Neural Monitoring (google, youtube that term) 3. Havana syndrome Question for now is? How would the government allow elon musk to develop a technology that can affect brain functioning in a big way? Why is there no resistance from the government? Most probably because there is already much more advanced technology that has not been made public

@@Targeting-Must-End the hell does hearing voices from god have to do with it? hes not claiming to hear voices telling him to do or think anything so you calling him a conspiracy theorist (which is basically calling him delusional) makes no sense. simply put,if the goverment has there own idea for neurolink of course they are going to let him develope it so they can reengineer it for themselves...or let him put it on the marked and remote acess these chips and repurpose,track,or disable them without laying a hand on them. thats the dangers of putting what is essentially a neuralogical wifi chip into your head comunicating data is a two way streat with that. and anything that can put out a signal can be tracked and anything created to interract with other divices can be hacked,and any computer can be reprogrammed. all it takes is somone with the know how,it doesnt even have to be somone from the goverment there are lots of civilians and cyber criminals that would likely jump at the chance of taking advantage of poeple in such a way. its as the old saying goes,it doesnt hurt to think like criminal once in a while.

@@dakotastein9499 I must apologize for not making the sarcasm clear in the comment. Have added quotation marks. Main point of the comment is that soon most of the conspiracies will/are becoming a reality. As most others in the comments have pointed out...what is stopping such systems from being hacked? Future versions of this technology will only get much smaller with more functionality. Question will always be, what is stopping them from being hacked? Anything electronic is "hackable"

Important first baby-steps in very important tech of the future. This could have wide-ranging impact. So could development of artificial muscles, but that's another topic.

How does Optogenetic technology play into the nurolink software. Has nurolink already altered the genetic data in the animals in order to collect information.

Modernly it doesn't have to be scary with implanted non synthetic/organic components. *Wireless inductive* sencors could've been reading the neuron waves, interpretation into mind data or limbs response. Thus far more popular, (Elons quote) "you can get it, NOW."

This may be beneficial to people with injuries to restore some lost functions. However, further applications will run into unsolvable problems because we don't understand ourselves enough yet. We will attempt to solve ourselves in vain given the obvious, but not so obvious problem with this dynamic.

Can you use this device to workout in the gym, but unstimulate the feeling in the brain? So you lift weights without feeling anything?
@khanch.6807
@khanch.6807 Жыл бұрын
No. But you can do it with morphine. Btw lifting weights without the sense of pain is dangerous and you might tear a tendon or muscle and not feel it and damage your kidneys.
