It's actually the vendors themselves for the most part that determine their location in the event space as it's based on the size booth they rent. Most shows have the largest booths on the outer areas to keep foot traffic flowing

@@nogames8982 Looking at the vendors map for this show on the NRBC site, they weren't isolated in a room by themselves. They were at the end (or front) of a long line of vendors that ran along the outer edge of the space. It just looked like they were alone because they weren't in the middle of other booths. @@StonedtotheBones13 My involvement in the reptile community amounts to watching Snake Discovery and Clint semi-regularly, however, I do know reptile channels geared specifically for kids/families are few and far between. The exotic animal community on social media is filled with channels/creators focused more on making money than providing appropriate care and it has a major problem with animal hoarding, irresponsible handling of venomous reptiles, and fake rescue/release/sanctuary content, just to name a few. I like Ed & Emily, their channel does a good job educating viewers, particularly children, about reptiles and how to care for them appropriately. That said, I think their excessive breeding adds to the hoarding issues and they have far more animals coming in via surrender than being adopted so large animals are often housed in too small cages, sometimes for months, due to a lack of space. Large snakes like boas need more room than their standard racks can provide; even their bullsnake racks are too small for some larger snakes but without any space, a large boa spent 7 months in the cage one size up from the hognose and he could barely turn around. Very long story short lol, I think exotic animal keeping is a global problem but it's particularly bad here in the US, due to a lack of federal laws governing care, the few laws we do have are poorly enforced and private individuals should it should be illegal to own most wild animals like big cats, bears, primates...etc. The fact that there are more tigers in private ownership in the US than anywhere in the wild is proof of a hugh problem

I got so emotional seeing the diamond painting of OmNom. What a special piece to have. And can I just say WOW when it comes to the depth of artistic talent amongst your fans. I also want to shout out all the folks who let their mom vibes show when they bring you coffee, sandwiches, coolers packed with snacks… you name it. I see it at every show and it really warms my heart to see folks wanting to take care of you guys… y’all really do so much for the community and clearly help a lot of young folks feel seen and accepted. I know little girls who no longer think they’re weird for wanting a reptile over a pet dog because Emily is cool and so they must be cool by association. Emily’s exuberant reaction with every egg hatching and showing off just how adorable snakes can be went such a long way to helping me move past a fear I didn’t want but didn’t know how to get past. Now I look forward to someday meeting a hog nose in person and getting to hold a ball python. I don’t think I’ll ever own reptiles (its the feeding bugs or mice that gets me) but I love that it’s an interest of many of my friends that I no longer have to feel squeamish about. So yeah. Big thanks to those who go out of their way to take care of Emily and Ed when they’re on the road and giving so much of themselves to the community that adores them.

But admittedly it's prob more that that would feel less... Idk organic? Ik SD have an editor and employees and a Phil to help out, but I do like that they try to keep involved and have that personal touch. That said, it would get prob a bigger view of the show and more vendors, plus give Em and Ed a look in case they missed anything lol. Logistically tho, idk how long the vid would be at that point

I thanked you at Schaumburg and talked to your stepdad and mom, St. Lewis, and Back two more times at Tinley. Now, a year and a half later, I have 45 crested geckos, 1 chewy, and two Leachies, 5 baby dalmatians, and 12 eggs in the cooker, with my first pair of stacked gene Axanthics to be hatched in July. It's like my reptile world has come full circle with your new crested geckos. I cannot thank you enough for the joy my new adventure in the reptile world has brought to my life. thank you. P.S. I went to the Dallas show on Saturday morning - early afternoon. Was with a group who just came to ogle at reptiles so I didn't do meet and greet, but I got to see both of y'all from a distance and bought three items from your both. Love you both, and gald the show went well for you! Hopefully you ate at Rodeo Goat during your stay, they have such yummy burgers!

That picture of Omnomlet in a boot was amazing! I thought it was a photo, then a drawing, but i think it might be another diamond dot art! Really well done!

OK they are learning. Emily and Ed's meet and greets are so popular to avoid congestion they get their own room. Huge room because you're so loved by so many. Everyone wants to meet you both. A room is better than clogging up the vendor floor. I love that and find it funny in equal measures.

I saw someone else comment that they might take that in a negative way. I can’t see anything negative about it. If anything it’s just plain logical.

Just a thought..... since you were so back to back with your meet and greets plus how busy you are generally running a booth at the show.... I wonder if just for a once off you and Ed could do a vlog of going to one of these reptile shows where you don't run a booth or meet and greet and just go as "members of the public". Not viable to do repeatedly but a once off would be super fun so we could see how you and Ed would go about exploring everything a show has to offer. Maybe I have this particular urge because I'm in Australia and will never get to be able tobtravel to the States and experience something like this. Food for thought. Please consider! Much love!

Ah, the Omnomlette diamond painting was so sweet, I miss that little pain in the tail 🥲 It was so cool to see the shot of the Axolotls! I wish you guys would have covered them, but I know y'all have a very busy time at the shows haha. Have you ever thought about getting into working with Axolotls? They are a beautiful and fascinating species, and the research done on them does a lot of good in the biomedical fields, plus they're great pets that I'm sure a lot of your audience would have an interest in. If your able to do so now that you have a curator, I would highly recommend it!
