Nice to hear someone who is so tuned into the Mighty Blimp. I did not think that there were many Zeppelin related channels on You Tube that were so accurate. Being from Boston I had to see them at the Garden in 1977 because of their ban here. To which I am sure that you know about. I had tickets for the 10th but I went on the 13th and 14th too thanks to my cousins Mark/Matt from Queens. Anyways, I enjoyed this. I would love to have a co-worker that could discuss all things Zeppelin like yourself. I would look forward to going to work everyday. Well done. I will continue to watch~ Rob/Boston

You're right about the original no quarter... the groove and the solo jimmy plays are awesome i used to listen to it over and over like all zeppelin you could listen to the guitar then next play listen to the drums and so on and then when you played it again you'd always find a little something you missed the first time.. Achilles last stand is a great song for that there's so much in the groove the solo the bass and drums going on it's like ahhhhh man i missed that the first time how'd he fit that in there !!!

Nice pointer, I always wondered what the hell happened to ‘Black Dog’, thinking they had deliberately opted to play a shorter version. Can’t understand why it remains edited on the newer releases.

I just saw Jason the other day, one of the songs he plays (i wont spoil it) has some footage of young bonzo accompanying it and it was one of the most emotional experiences Ive ever had at a concert

Terry, nice shirt. Bonham had one like that but I cant recall what concert/video footage it was in. What does it say?
@bonzoleum6 жыл бұрын
It says SHOWCO. It's a sound company that was used often by many bands in the States back in the day. There's a pic of Bonham at Stargroves behind his kit taken by Eddie Kramer you probably have seen, as well as a few pics of him wearing it at shows. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Showco

That's some pretty cool stuff, Terry. I'm adding to my message here, one day later after stumbling upon a Guardian interview with Jimmy Page on the KZbins: kzbin.info/www/bejne/jnrIgoqvZ7iFb9U at 37:18 Jimmy talks about the live video recordings you are here. I don't care for the interviewer (and that they have poor Jimmy cranking his neck over his should to look at photos referenced in the interview), but I though you (all) might find this interesting. Thanks, Terrance.

You are THE first humanoid besides me I’ve *ever* heard mention the original soundtrack’s No Quarter - period, and also the first besides me I’ve heard conclude that it’s far superior to the film version. AND like me, you’ve described it as your fave Zep song, which I’ve been saying since I bought the brand new album. I now therefore feel I’m in danger of being duped and fear you will steal my magic bag. Thence, you must be eliminated. But on the lighter side, I bootlegged Jason twice in St Louis (I NEVER sell my boots. I’d give away a free copy at worst yet never have even been asked to.) and then went to see him play for my third Bonham experience at a gig in Dayton, Ohio, at a small bar dive. There, I chatted with him when I saw him having a Budweiser *before* the show began. “They sell Guinness here and you’re drinking cheap American water.” To that, he explained, “Well, with this [Budweiser], it’s easier to find my ‘limit’.” That educated me. Not having been married too long, he worked in a divorce joke for his tiny audience toward the opening of his performance : “Mattel’s coming out with the new Divorcée Barbie™️ this fall. She comes with all of Ken’s SHIT.”

hey terry, just watched a clip from 'it might get loud' where jimmy revisits headley grange kzbin.info/www/bejne/gH6YhneCadFooLM . two things - 1) they show clip of denmark tv 1969 'how many more times', any chance you or george can do a rundown on this? (even just the 'introductions' bit) - 2) check out the stills of bonzo from 2:03 onwards, he's wearing your shirt!

Yes-G and I should do a Danish HMMT as it is golden. I'm always annoyedwhen I watch it that Jones and Page drop the ball at the reprise! Those shots with him with the Showco shirt are from Stargroves (taken by Eddie Kramer). I wish there were more of them-that you could see the whole kit!

97warlock ismyname The beauty of the band live was the little mistakes here and there and they played right through it like it never happen. True professionals
@97warlock6 жыл бұрын
We do the exact same thing. Most musicians learn to do this because they have no choice. - You can either say Hey audience, I screwed up there, or Keep going & hope half the people didnt notice & make believe you meant to do it. My band makes atleast one noticable mistake per each member per gig, ya just keep going, dont acknowledge the mistake At all . .. Zeppelin, or should I say Page Bonham & Jones were flat out incredible at straying offcoarse & going into left field & getting lost ..... And knowing how to keep goiing & find each other & get right back on track. ... Which looking back created some very cool music. I guess being a musician for 30 years I see the errors on occasion & see how they make eye contact with each other and know the signs what means what with just certain looks. Jones & Bonham were incredible & Page imo was a great composer & producer & marketer and Robert smack dab in the middle of it. The definately had a chemistry with each other.

97warlock ismyname Yes I remember being lucky enough to see them four times starting in 1971 and final time 3/5/75 in Dallas I feel like I got to experience the maturing of the band. If you want a great example of them playing through a mistake check out Hot Buffalo Nights on KZbin in the instrumental part of Rock and Roll before the last verse they get completely lost and JPJ has to bring everyone back on the same page with this great bass riff and they play on like nothing happen.
