If there was ever a lesson on how to conduct an interview with a hardcore unassuming TT legend, Mr Whitham nailed it. Absolutely fantastic insight

Such an interesting character hutchy. Softly spoken but an absolute worrier of a man. Really opens up here. Good interview lads .

That was a real treat. Thank you James and Ian. What a great thing it would be to see Ian win again, but regardless, I would always consider Ian Hutchinson to be an all time great.

One of the best interviews i have ever seen - we are so lucky to have had that generation of mcginness hutchy johnson martin dunlop harrison et al all so different but all amazing characters. And of course the legendary whitham to chat with them.

I’ve loved James since the 80s great rider, super nice bloke and now a fabulous interviewer. Great questions, you can see he’s genuinely interested and he allows the guests to talk openly. A lesson for all interviewers especially Bennett’s bike social question ‘have you anything to prove’ if I was Ian I’d have said ‘what do you think and what have you ever achieved’

I’ve been a biker since 1977 & I’ve a biomedical training and career in pharmaceutical R&D. TT is the highlight of my sporting year. Obviously, Hutchy is a hero to so many of us. Regret to say it’s quite likely that Hutchy’s stroke is a result of c19 arm spears. Strokes are uncommon in fit non-smokers with excellent BMI. You can never say impossible but it’s really not expected & in any case, it must have had a cause. I’ve no information about arm spear requirements for Spain a few years back. My prayers for Ian this year. He deserves a break.

Big fan..... but IMO Hutchinson needs to retire... he's no longer 'competitive' .. over the last several years he has been given top teir racing motorcycles from top teir teams and squandered these rides due to his health issues ... while other younger healthier riders w/ great futures, are passed up .. which is a darn shame.. I get it, he wants to compete, bring back the old days of winning.. but thats not going to happen. He's selfish ..

You could say that about many of the riders on the grid, be it due to health issues or whether they have a realistic chance of winning, but if they want to ride, have the ability to ride and the vast majority of the fans want to see them ride, then I think they should ride.
