In terms of making the world feel alive and immersive WD2 was the only one that did it for me. If you've not tried before then instead of just driving to a mission try taking a stroll to get there and you'll see what i mean. Remote hacking cars never gets old. And the open world isn't unnecessarily large. Definitely the most underrated open world game

It looks like the Police System on Mafia games is more complex than GTA series... For example, if you commit a crime in Mafia 2 and managed to escape the cops, they still can recognize you from your clothing or from the license plate of the vehicle, which was never existed on GTA series (I hope R* add this feature on GTA 6)
