We do this on a upscale service, but will need to at time put some silicone or grease back on threaded rails so seat can glide back and forth without future issues

What do you typically use to re grease the track?

I blew out my black carpet, seats and mats and didn't have to vacuum at all. Love that tool.

The grease on the rails should be reapplied.

Right, I don't see the point in "cleaning" the seat tracks if you're not cleaning out the old dirt-infused grease and reapplying fresh clean grease. Blasting out some dust and dirt is okay but not a thorough job.

Be sure to grease all moving parts like the gears and seat rails for smooth operation of the seat. The seats will get stuck without lubricant. There are good U tube videos for lubrication of seat rails.

Excellent suggestion. I certainly need a small, affordable compressor for those tight spaces that need forced air to remove particles of debris.

Lowe’s has a 33 gallon craftsman air compressor and its 120 volts not 240 however it’s almost $500!!! I’m currently saving up so I can buy it I’m using a little pancake compressor with a 6 gallon tank so that’s total of 12 gallons works decent good air for maybe a minute

Check out the Husky 20gallon silent compressor. Promise you won’t be disappointed. It’s beyond quiet plenty of cfm and only $299. You could run this thing inside an apartment and no one would hear. Thank me later.

You are right about the vortex air method, all the Florida retailers swear by this method for sand issues. Question to help new detailers like myself, ‘how much time does the vacuum process take using that SUV as an example’?
@attention2detailswchelsea
@attention2detailswchelsea 3 жыл бұрын
It actually saves me time using this method along with a drill brush but sand is one of those variables that can add an hour or two if its sticky or unforgiving carpet. Typical interiors are 2-4 hours, sand can add 1-2 hours if bad.

I worked at a solar field for 12 months in Southwest Michigan so if I wasn't dealing with lake effect snow showers I was dealing with waist deep mud I still have dirt packed up under my car's engine I'm 3 years ago

Are u happy wit that air compressor being 2.6 CFM? Is that enough Serannos detailing saying minimum 4.5 but that’s getting expensive U happy wit that craftsman and it’s performance with the vortex ?

For day to day use- honestly no but if I was just using it here and there to clean my cars yes it’s sufficient. But I actually use a variable speed blower now and love it for interiors and it’s way smaller and more affordable than a compressor.

Not really sure if I like the fact that your blowing debris and sand onto the carpet with the air tool kinda redundant, the want I usually do it is similar to you but without blowing it onto the carpets, I spray my super clean on to the tracks then take my steamer in one hand and my microfiber in the other and blow the steam with the debris into the microfiber so it doesn’t get all over the place.
@jakeramos5176

You’re creating more work for your self since you already vacuumed most of the carpet from what it seems like, make it easier for yourself by vacuuming the big debris first spraying the tracks with my method above and you won’t have to do another vacuum. The way I like to think of it is if they’re something super dirty within a tight spot I’m not going to just blow it away with some solution and my air tool that’s not how you fix things, you spray the solution take the steamer and mop it up to take it away and OUT the car. Hope this helps

So all the dirt and debris just gets blown into the speakers and air vents? This makes no sense. Blowing dirt and debris into your air vents is just moving the debris from outside to deep inside your air vents which is just going to build up and blow air that could have mould etc growing inside
@attention2detailswchelsea
@attention2detailswchelsea 8 ай бұрын
It’s gets blown out actually on the speakers and can get blown into the vents but they are all connected and for the most part it does get blown out just through one of the other vents but the moisture is blown dry with the blower so it shouldn’t be a mold risk

@@attention2detailswchelsea exactly what I do when doing the interiors, always work from back to front when you have air compressor. One thing to always do carefully is when using the steamer on the seat tracks so you don't end up removing the factory grease unless you have that grease available to apply it back.😉😃
