Sounds like a simple task just to finish off the bezel but there are plenty of tips to be shared in this film.
Andrew also shows you how to successfully solder on a jump ring to the bezel too.
Previous films showing how Andrew made up the perfect bezel here • How To Make An Oval Be...
and soldering on the backplate • How To Solder a Bezel ...
This film sees Andrew showing you several techniques for managing to solder on that bezel onto a backplate. You don't need anything fancy or any extra equipment. You don't need clamps nor binding wire. These just make your life more complicated and are time consuming. And who doesn't want to get the right result first time with no messing about?

Ive watched about 5 of your videos today and will come back to them to complete this project when i have all my tools ready. Please keep making these videos. one of the most valuable youtube channels on the jewellery manufacturing topic. Thank you for telling me whats in the pickle. lol

WHAT'S NOT TO LOVE? No matter how much I practice and study (elsewhere), I always learn something from you Andrew (the avoiding solder while filing to save the metal quality - great!). What solder did you use for the jump ring? The base join didn't even get close to melting which suggests perhaps a large temp differential on the two solders. I love the jump ring getting sucked onto the bezel - COOL! My question: What are the cons of having a (tiny) bit of solder in the reuse of metal (what does it look like, do, etc.)? Who is that [thumbs down] person, and what IS their gripe? I'm guessing jealousy, grouchy, needs a hug...etc. if there is no ownership of the thumbs down. WASN'T ME!!!! :)))))

Hi Andrew - Love your films but I work exclusively with Argentium Sterling instead of Regular Sterling, for many reasons including 'I hate fire-scale' and I love that the Argentium stays tarnish-free for a long time. Could you do some more videos showing how to do what you do, if you're working with Argentium Sterling because sometimes the rules are different? and there are very few videos on Argentium and tons of videos on regular sterling. Thanks.

Hey Andrew, you’re videos are super helpful. I just started soldering, and I’m having the toughest time soldering the bezel to the sheet metal. You make it look so easy, but I must be doing something wrong, I cannot get it to melt. I’ve cleaned the metals a bunch of times, used the flux, applied the heat correctly, but the chips are so stubborn and just won’t melt! Am I missing something?
@flyingcheff

Why do you join the jump ring on the non-join side of the ring? It seems like you could complete 2 operations at once if you soldered the join of the ring onto the bezel. Thank you, Andrew. I looked for this question but didn't see it yet....

Giday Andrew, I'm sitting in Australia watching your channel for quite a while now and have tried to get those nylon brushes you talk about, but I can't seem to find them anywhere here (in OZZ). I did have a look at buying them from England but the postage well just say it far outweighed the cost of the brushes. Do you know of any supplier that supply those brushes to a company in Australia so it would be economical to buy some. Saying that I am wondering if there would be any difference in mounting a non geometric stone (ie a stone that isn't oval, square , rectangular or cylindrical in shape) in a bezel?

As an older person and on disability, I'm making most of my tools and purchasing only what I can't make my self. My question is about a crucible. Is it just for melting silver and stuff u need a crucible for? U can buy small silica ones on ebay or Amazon for under 5 dollars.. Or if its a big crucible for a furnace. You can purchase those for about $10 too,.. Andrew did a video a few films back about his electric furnace and he talksaloy about crucibles in that one. It might give u some ideas.. When i started i thought of ways to make one too untill someone shared a link with me about the silica dishes and thats what i use now. I hope i gave u some food for thought but im sure Andrew will give you far better advice than me when he reads your lovely comment.. Best of luck from Ireland 🍀

I love seeing the Silver work, and hope to be able to afford it some day.... but for now I have to work in the lesser expensive... copper..... so I have been watching your videos like a mad woman, and wonder if using silver solder on copper makes a difference or if there is copper solder... I have not gone shopping as of yet, because I want to be sure of what solder I want to use before I get it, and what I have priced around here is a bit high.... I am also looking for what I should purchase for the long run, I cant purchase a little butane now.. over and over... if I could purchase one set up of propane that would last a year.. end result saving money... if that makes sense... but would that be smart idea working in my den.? Do you have a suggestion? I am not totally unfamiliar with silver smithing, but untrained, and have to teach myself.

hi andrew can you use silver with solder on it, can you melt it down and make things from it as long as you do not mark it 925 but mark the item as silver, i know the quality is lower but my thought is when you look at silver from other parts of the world where the silver content is much lower than ours by quite some distance.
