I really enjoy this style of documentary. You're getting to know the people, their daily life, hopes but also struggles. It conveys so much positivity! As a new trainee in documentary production myself this is something to look up to! Stories should be told like this! Well done! And Hunter and his mom are really cool people! Good luck to them! (:

OMG! The moment he experienced empathy hurt me! My son is in the spectrum and my roommate by choice. He's employed full time and drives an hour each direction for work, has his BA. His senior presentation was "The influence of music in video games. Brilliant brain!!! And he's never lonely. I'm a fortunate person! I wish I were as cool as this Mom!

This is my son. he is 25 and is on the high end of the scale. He is very high functioning but will never be able to live on his own. People don't know how to deal with him when they first meet him. He seems perfectly normal and then the more he speaks the more odd he seems.

I can definitely empathize. My tween is like that. He's so incredibly smart and you would never know that he was any different from an average 12 year old until you saw him stimming or talked to him for more than a few sentences.

My little brother is Autistic. He's a lovely young man and very affectionate. He does have issues with anger and disappointment, so much so that you have to restrain him sometimes. He gets nervous easily too. He also stutters at times and takes a while to get his sentences out. He had to go through a lot of therapy as well. It's been like this his whole life and as long as I can remember. So it's really nothing strange to me, I forget he even has autism most of the time. He's just my very loud little brother who won't stop singing heathens by twenty one pilots.

Being a father of a daughter (9 years old) with autism I often hope that one of her siblings would take care of her. Often we just try to focus & get through the day were in & not able to think way ahead!
@kerstiesweeney5 жыл бұрын
The youngest of my three daughters (13, 9 and 5 years old) has autism. She will be able to function fully on her own, but if she wasn't able, her sisters would always be there for her. It's a blessing to have caring and willing siblings when you have a child with disabilities. A lot of people have to plan on institutionalized care when they are no longer able to care for their child. It's a very difficult situation for many. 💖💖💖
@irispostema5 жыл бұрын
And there are also family houses where they can live with caregivers
@kerstiesweeney5 жыл бұрын
@@irispostema True!! My husband is a driver for a daycare facility for adults with disabilities, and a lot of the people he drives live in homes with a family that provides care for them. This is a very good option for adults with disabilities who don't have family that can care for them. Most of the time they have a great bond with the family they live with. I wish more people were willing to do this, as it provides a really excellent level of care for the people who need it. It does take a special kind of person or family to take on that kind of responsibility though. True angels. 💖💖💖

Hi Rachel D - I hear you. The coffee machine is in the "butler's pantry" and I don't prep any food in there, it's just for making coffee. Shep eats the cat food if I put it on the floor, where it should be. The chickens don't come in the house unless the door is accidentally left open. The front Airbnb space has it's own kitchen and the animals are banned from that space. Roi (Hunter's ma)
