So what about the central park 5? Charles Ray Finch? If she really wanted to better our criminal justice system, she would talk about the criminal justice systems in other highly developed countries which our more successful than ours and explain how we can implement those changes into our own system .She failed to acknowledge that our justice system is institutionally racist.When she talked about severely punishing those who have done violent crimes, it disgusted me. There's no talk of rehabilitation. And the people who would feel (and are feeling) the "severe punishment" are black people, innocent or not .The prison industrial complex (all those private companies that make billions off the slavery of those in prison) lobbied and gave her money during her campaign. Also, she has background working in the criminal justice system locking up poor blacks so she has the mentality of a racist

@massvoid39945 ай бұрын
What the hell are you talking about? She started by contradicting herself about innovation on criminal justice. Then moved on to supporting building more prisons to lock away violent criminals despite saying that the bulk of crimes are non-violent. And ended by saying that cops need more tech even though california can't afford it. Mind you, this was 11 years ago and we've seen a full on militarization of the police force since then. Not to mention cop cities all over the US. Throughout her vagaries, she was most explicit in her support for punitive justice via incarceration, a desire to funnel money from education towards building prisons, and enabling the police in funneling people into those prisons more efficiently. Her ideology is clear. Just because she's speaking calmly, and just because she makes empty comparisons between what she does and the civil rights movement, doesn't mean she isn't as bloodthirsty and sociopathic as any other conservative.

@carolynjohnson93155 ай бұрын
@@diegoyuiop Your reply is illogical and so is Kamala's talk - full of straw men, false dichotomies, red herrings, and circular reason. I'll explain a couple ways. Saying liberals ONLY pit education vs. the criminal justice system is a completely false narrative so arguing that education doesn't fix all crime is a moot point - no one is arguing it does. Education is one of the MANY community initiatives that actually help reduce and PREVENT crime - which, by the way, policing and the punitive prison industrial complex DOES NOT prevent crime - and if Kamala really truly took the data driven approach she talks about she would mention that mental health programs, housing, fair wages, access to food, racial and social equity & equality, healthcare, gun control, access to basic means of living and, yes - education prevent crime. Instead of looking at how to actually prevent crime, she keeps falling back on "but what about m**derers and r---ists." That's circular reasoning and just plain fear mongering - saying we shouldn't focus on crime-preventative community measures because violent criminals exist - but the whole point of crime-preventative community measures is that it actually reduces the amount of violent crime - unlike prisons which tend to increase the likelihood that offenders will escalate.
