Even if we push aside the douche-factor remark as hyperbole, the fact remains this video/series/channel provides clear advice designed to give people tools of perception. Rather than try to give straight answers to specific reads, this video seeks to help you read better in general. I like the notion that getting good at these things is an iterative process. That we become better at it through repetition and a genuine desire to pay attention to your surroundings.

Girl speaking here - what we usually like are compliments on the part of our look we can influence, like our clothes or hairdo. Speaking from my own experience, girls are usually insecure about whether the guy is actually interested in us, or whether he just thinks we are psycically attractive. So "by the way you have an interesting style, I really like that T-shirt" is better compliment than just "you are pretty". The girl cannot choose how she looks like. I mean, sure, she can loose weight or go to gym, but still those are things she can influence only to some extent. And she cannot change how her face looks like, how tall she is and so on. However, she obviously decided what clothes to wear, or how to braid her hair or whatever - so when you make compliment on that, it means you are complimenting something she already likes about herself and put certain effort in. P.S. And for God's sake, never make "compliments" about particular body parts, apart from maybe "you have beautiful eyes". No compliments on boobs, butts, hips, belly or even legs. That just makes us feel like a piece of meat.

@Eris_Norregard5 жыл бұрын
@@lj-wp3sf Sometimes, yes, of course. But girls often don't like even the parts of their body that others think are attractive. Like, for example, the overal consensus of the society is that big breasts are attractive, but I know plenty of girls who simply HATE their big breasts. Or they have curly hair but would like to have straight hair. Even if you genuinely like that, you could unknowingly point out something the girl wishes would disappear.

The problem is that it is often very annoying to gay people. When dating they struggle with an additional problem, and a major one: they don't know if the person is gay too. So in order to increase their chances they go to such places. And it can be really annoying to them if a heterosexual person goes there too and makes them waste their efforts and time without showing them immediately that he isn't gay. Making contact is as difficult for them as it is for you, and maybe you wouldn't like it if a girl was just playing with you in this way.

Weird as it sounds, when you see an attractive female that you’re interested in and you get nervous or what not, get over the nerves and attempts to remember all these talking points by simply picturing her as a male version of herself. Female tip! Happily married now, but this is a genderless approach that used to work every time for me : 1.) Sit at bar and stare openly, but intermittently, at the person you want to attract. 2.) When they notice you staring, immediately look down and smile coyly (like you're blushing that you got caught, but not straight *embarrassed*). 3.) Observe their reaction. Do they continue to steal glances at you*, or are they indifferent? This step is everything. If they're indifferent, abort mission. They aren't interested, so let it go. If they continue to steal glances at you, proceed to step 4. (*Make sure their returned glances are curious interest, not fear-based.) 4.) Stare at them again. This time, when they look at you, smile coyly again and maintain deep eye contact for 1-3 full seconds before looking away again. Did they match your eye contact and did they smile back? If yes, proceed to step 5. 5.) Wait 5-10 minutes. If they don't approach you, it's time to approach them. If it misses, you probably mis-read step 3. No biggie. Next! Note: The reason this approach works is down to people respond well to someone paying interest in them, but not having their space invaded. The chemicals from the ego boost + respectfully paid interest makes you appear more interesting than you otherwise might. It lays the groundwork because the other person starts to consider you as a potential love interest before first contact is even made.

I watched this video out of curiosity, even though I'm a woman. :p Guys have it hard, which I guess I can't fully understand, since I'm not a guy. But women have a lot of work to do too :p Especially in trying to look nice for guys, whereas guys (according to the stereotype at least) just throw whatever on. Women looking nice for guys might sound easy, but it's so not easy. That is why there are SO many beauty tutorials on KZbin. We're all trying to figure out how to make ourselves approachable and attractive for guys. Some guys don't even know what women look like without makeup. I've even seen guys who are surprised women don't wake up looking made up. For real. Every woman is expected to be some kind of a maestro when it comes to the aesthetics of her adornment and demeanor. It's a skill, like painting. But women are expected to be great at it. Personally, I have not mastered it. But I suppose I know enough to get by. Women, like men, also have to behave in certain ways so as not to come across the wrong way to guys. You will also see a lot of books and things on how to be lady-like. There are certain ways to sit and talk and all that. It's hard all around. Dating sucks that's the bottom line :)

+depression is for the rich From my personal experience, hot women have it easy to pick up guys. It's not that they have it easy in general -- I'm sure, at least from what other people have told me, that there are tons of creepy guys that try to pick up hot women. But, that being said, again in my personal experience, it's pretty easy to get someone to like you if you're a hot woman. As a guy I tend to easily get crushes on women just from the smallest things.

@argenus8 жыл бұрын
***** ... nah or, just try to be yourself and have principles for your own life. If the woman fits into it. Fine. If not and if she hinders your goals, push her away - no matter how hot she is. That is my experience and opinion now anyway. It is not worth it to run after some girls, who are not worth it and just look hot. Most of them will age and be not so hot anymore later on. And then they will recognize, that they could have had a very good person (or even had him), but treated him like shit (in the relationship or later on) or hindered his goals. It's not about, how you can manipulate her the best, to fit to you. That is my opinion. She should do something herself and not think, she can do everything. If she does not qualify for me - because she much too arrogant and wants to allow herself disrespectful behavior - please go away ;) I'm not her father, but actually want her to behave on her own and have some common sense in relationship and human interaction. I dumbed my hot girl friend for that. She was hot in my opinion - one of the most hot ones at my university and she was even modeling before - , but for me not worth it so much. I still like her, but not as a girlfriend. (And she went vegan before the relationship, which was important for me, to begin a relationship) You don't need do this and that to get the girl. And she does not need to do nothing. There needs to be a connection, that can be build up, which is something both need to do. But too many woman are much too arrogant and look out for materialistic gains or for the position someone has in society. --> All of them are selected out for me before even a relationship starts ;) Men should actually do this all, instead of running after them for no reason at all. This would change that arrogance. At least I can be asexual, if I want to xD - don't need to care that much. But sure, it is nice to have a girlfriend, but she should be right for me xD I think that is important. I rather think about it now, were DO I FIND the right one for me, how should she be, and which kind of life did girls like that went through (because of their decision). And I found some answers, and that is were I try to look next (and other groups, I may test out).

Can you believe that some feminists want to change the law so that if "ugly" men flirt with them, it's treated as sexual assault?

Awesome, awesome stuff. Keep up the good work friend. The fact that you do these videos in one seamless take--no stumbling over your words or rushing your sentences--it is really impressive. Let us know when your Ted Talk will be aired =)

Every single time I used to get complimented, I would feel super overwhelmed. If your a huge loner or if you're bullied, this is a huge issue, it always makes you feel like they have ulterior motives, even if you are a man like me, because, in your own thinking, why else would they compliment you. I'm not this bad anymore, because I've made an amazing group of friends, but I do still sometimes get the same feeling every now and then.

He's said before it's hard for him to give these kinds of tips for women because he speaks from experience. If I were you I'd stick to the "gender neutral" videos and try to fill the gaps with your personal experience. I'm in the same position as him, so I don't think I can be much help.

It's so true, the secret to flirting is to genuinely have fun. Enjoy flirting with no expectations, it becomes cheeky instead of creepy. And often it draws people in, it's a little indirect compliment without asking for reciprocation that makes someone feel better about themselves and thus, about you.

Advice from a lesbian: don't just tell a girl that she's pretty; tell her that she's really talented with makeup or has a good taste in style. You've turned a superficial compliment into a compliment about her actual hard work and ability. Doing winged eyeliner is hard, and I get a great reaction from other girls when I compliment their eyeliner skills.
@danielnosuke6 жыл бұрын
"Hi lady, I like your eyeliner skills." Um, not sure that any guy should know anything about eyeliner or give compliments about it.
