“Knott’s Bear-y Tales: Return to the Fair” will take guests on an exciting 4D journey through reimagined show scenes inspired by the original dark ride, which include the Boysenberry Pie Factory, Frog Forest, Fortune Teller Camp, Thunder Cave, and Weird Woods, leading to a grand celebration at the County Fair. Guests climb aboard ride vehicles equipped with jelly blasters to recover all the stolen pies as they travel through whimsical environments and compete for the high score. Ah yes this is because you have not been on the ride, the thunder cave is all practical. Plus everything around the screens is a practical set, it’s actually an amazing ride trust me!

Your criticizing the ride for being something it is not. That’s like criticizing a horror movie for not being a comedy. Appreciate the ride for what it is

Is the arcade gone? I have so many fond memories of that arcade. I also really miss the dinosaur ride that was there throughout my childhood. I would force my parents to go on it every time we went at least twice

You actually expected that, this was a revamp of voyage to the iron reef, it was using the same system. We all new it would be a shooting dark ride from the start, and this is easily the best shooting dark ride I have been on, and it is not even close. Give this ride a shot, it was your fault for having unrealistic expectations not the rides. This ride is awesome!

Well, if you makes you feel better. I am working on a spiritual successor to Bear-y Tales right now. The ride I am working on is more closer to what fans wanted from the original ride. Except approached with a good medium of physical sets and figures.

A question for those who've experienced the attraction in full or those who know about it like Knotts Bear-y Tales Preserved, how often does the theme song play? I've noticed in this video it seems to do a reprise version "thanks to one and all", yet in the previews on the Bear-y Tales preserved channel it shows a bit of "welcome one and all". Was this only done as music for the trailers or is this an entrance piece? Also, when was the song used in the original? The soundtrack on Bear-y Tale's preserved channel is 30 minutes, and yet in the vehicle it isn't used, so was it more of an entrance piece of music that played throughout the queue line? I'm really curious about it.

1 the song welcome one and all is reprised in the new version but the lyrics are the same as the original BUT At the end of the ride when crafty coyote is captured they changed the lyrics up in the new ride which is “thanks to one and all! I have the lyrics to the new version of the song that plays at the end of the ride on my channel

The original 1975 30 minute song of welcome one and all isn’t used in the queue but instead a new version plays in the queue which is just like the 1975 one

I see you summoned me sort of. The theme song itself with the lyrics is only found in the Queue as you're about to go in the Trolley cars. Sadly, unlike the original. Only the main lyrics are heard and then there is a version with closing lyrics heard at the end of the ride.

I went with my little brother but the ride stopped like two time one while shooting the bears near the beginning and we had extra time to get points and then the next part was the thunder it was dark and I thought something was going to pop out because of how long it was taking

Seems to me this is a mixed bag. They revived a classic... Sort of. Original IP and service to long time guests of the park glad to see some good nostalgia. Yet this is another in the trend of electronic stuff usurping all else. Fewer dimensional dioramas built from actual sets and populated with figures and animatronics which are exclusive to parks like this, more monitors, movie screens, and virtual reality stuff which is now far more available to individuals at home than they have ever been. More the same you don't need to visit the park to get a taste of. AN improvement over Iron Reef any day, but seeming a reskinning.

Considering Velocicoaster in Orlando seems to be a jerky mess that lasts all of 90 seconds, I'd much rather go on this ride. The attention to detail from the Old Ride is wonderful. I know that I'm comparing Apples to Oranges, but I think more guests will enjoy this more.

I don't really get who this is for. The whole setup seems super cutesy in that annoying way that young kids love and older kids/adults hate, but then the Thunder Cave portion would be absolutely terrifying to those young kids (and not in a good way).

The story is just like the original ride that was in the same building. It was full of animatronics and physical sets. And it also had the Weird Woods and Thunder Cave (which was even scarier because it had the huge spider.) This new ride is following the original story.

As a glasses wearer, yet another ride not worth riding since they again implement 3D glasses as a requirement. Seriously theme parks, STOP PUSHING 3D TECH, its annoying and makes the ride unenjoyable for those of us who have to wear two sets of glasses. The only 3D that works are animatronics, because those don't require glasses.

Exactly I don’t like the whole 3D tech stuff either! Even Iron (the last ride in that spot) was a bit of a show stopper to me and now knowing that they just did another 3D ride.. I miss the old days where it was actual animatronics and not a lot of screens.

@Poo Poo La La i'm not going to ride it, but that's a problem, because if rides lose too many guests and don't retain enough riders to justify its operation, parks can and will shut a ride down (it's why Iron Reef was shut down and why Kingdom of the Dinosaurs was shut down. Also why half of Ghost Town stopped being used).

@@jish55 I don't see how this wont be popular. Iron Reef was the same system but the theme and content of the ride was really boring and not really interesting for kids. This is aimed more at kids and has a lot more energy and action going on in the scenes. It wont be as popular as Toy Story Mania of course since Knotts doesn't get as much attendance in the first place but I think it will do well. I also hoped it to have animatronics but now that I see the final attraction I should have figured this is what they were doing.

Here r the reasons Voyage to the iron reef was replaced: 1. The machinery broke a lot 2. It didnt have that great of a story line 3. It didnt have that many guests come to visit it. 4. Triotech, the rides creator, reminded Knotts that the ride had a 5 year contract and its closing year was the final year

Iron Reef sucked. Proof: I rode it 50 times in its lifetime and was there when the ride had a fog curtain for the Kraken Queen; an effect that was taken out.
