I agree with your choices but I would also like to include Back To The Future as well as that ride was great. Once again get rid of a classic like Twister and replace it with a Late Night talk show host Jimmy Fallon. Get rid of Back To The Future ride for a very terrible The Simpsons ride.
@thetokutickler7 ай бұрын
To be fair the Harry Potter stuff at Universal is incredibly solid (despite JK Rowling's attempts to ruin everything and burn it all to the ground), so I can bear with that one even though it replaced Jaws. The Simpsons ride on the otherhand replaced a ride for one of the greatest movies of all time with a ride for a show that was already past its prime even back then. The Jimmy Fallon ride was pretty fun the first time riding, but that small amount of fun isn't there the second time around, so it sucks that it replaced one of the best attractions. But, my friends, all of this is peanuts compared to the greatest crime against theme parks in all of history; the abortion known as "Fast and Furious Supercharged"! This monstrosity of a """ride""" replaced both Disaster AND Beetlejuice's Graveyard Revue! Two whole attractions had to be taken down because despite it being such a short and underwhelming experience, it somehow takes up an ungodly massive footprint!

My favorite thing about theme park/haunted attractions are always the sets. They are like paintings: scenes captured in time, but here you can actually walk into them and marvel in awe at the detail. The set seen throughout this attraction, from the outside building to the interior, is insanely cool! The level of detail and immersion in this disaster-ravaged environment they put you in is off the charts. Love the chaotic feel, it's almost as if you put several action scenes in a movie on pause and started walking through it. And then when you actually get to the tornado, the effects are amazing! Love how the ceiling and walls are all massive screens with CG, and I really wanna know how they made the giant sign and thing from the gas station go flying away. Makes me wonder about the structural integrity of the place haha.

Jason Bacon it's all about money. There are undoubtedly a lot of fans of John carpenter, but the tonight show with Fallon boasts ten times as many fans. That, and it isn't aggressively scary.... but goofy and fun for the family. Again, it's a money thing

I probably will not return to Universal Studios. I loathe Harry Potter and with the removal of two cinematic icons in Twister and Jaws, I have no real interest in returning. I had planned on going in 2019. Perhaps we'll visit the Islands of Adventure side and Disney World.

I rode Twister for the last time in 2015 for our Grad Bash. It’s still unbelievable to me it’s gone. The first ride that I saw go and be replaced was Back to the Future when The Simpson’s ride took its place

This will always be a classic. Damn shame they replaced this. The way they transitioned from the CGI Twister into the fog twister was unbelievable. Super smooth transition. Gets me every time. Never gets old. Tell me I'm wrong.

Twister is one of my all time favorite movies. I was 8 when it was released and I've watched it at least once a year ever since; usually during a thunderstorm, lol. Too bad this isn't there anymore, would love to have seen it when we go there in June.

I first went to this ride back in 2005 and 2006 and loved it! That giant tall funnel cloud of the tornado reminded me of a small sample of one at a museum I went. One thing that was ironic and iconic was the damaged Aunt Meg’s house that I wouldn’t have known about. And when the winds blew and the sirens went on before moving into the next room was like the tornado is coming back to finish the job. It felt crazy, but something worth while. I’ll miss Twister: Ride it Out, but with some KZbin videos I can always come back and enjoy.

man that section of the preshow when you walk through the destroyed house right before the final show is one of the most inspired pre show ques ever made. Even better than E.T. During the video you can look out one of the windows and see the tornado building and getting closer, and then when Bill paxton says "hold on for your life" The tornado is right there, the lights flicker off and the tornado siren cuts on. Chills everytime.

I rode that ride in 2013 on my Senior year trip. I love it. I feel like I'm living with a tornado 🌪 that wrecked through the town. Seeing the damage while walking through before the ride, I couldn't imagine how much the twister would do this damage. During the ride, I have to hold on my hat, my mom, my brother, and my things because it feels like a twister is right in front of us, the roof and everything. They're not wrong, twisters is very powerful and stronger than a hurricane. I miss this ride. Hopefully one day we'll bring it back. That's the ride I'll never forget on my Senior year trip

I was so young when first experienced this ride. The gift shop was amazing, I got a "Twister" cup, and I loved it. Broke shortly after. The concept is still being used today but back then it was the first and only of its kinda. It was a 20 dollars cup that when you push a button there was a spinning flap that created a whirlpool effect, giving an illusion of a tornado in your cup.

It’s a damn shame they got rid of this. I love stuff that’s like this, showing you how they made it and behind the scenes clips. While afterwards giving you a live mock demonstration afterwards! Never got to see it in person, I’ve never even been to Universal Orlando. Wish I had though. I’ve heard the new Jimmy Fallon attraction isn’t even that good from a friend who went recently.

First, love how they kept the Shining in the background lol! Second, I live in tornado alley so if I would’ve ever gone to this attraction I would’ve loved the movie references and the actors explaining how tornadoes are a natural disaster ranging from just enough wind to bring down some tree branches and knock power out a little bit to demolishing an entire town taking several hundred victims along its path. I live less than an hour away from Joplin, MO. I saw the tornado. I’ve been in tornadoes, each spring going through the lovely tornado watches/warnings. So the tornado experience at the end would’ve been a little on the silly side for me but appreciate the awareness especially to those who live in an area where tornadoes never happen or are extremely rare.

THIS IS WHAT I MISS ABOUT ATTRACTIONS!!! Being able to actually EXPERIENCE and be apart of the ride or show itself!

I hope the new movie is popular enough to give them an excuse to bring this attraction back. With a more modern city street and even better effects (and maybe some 4d stuff like the Disaster! experience ride they used to have). Twister was the coolest thing they've ever had and I was heartbroken when it got replaced. I know it was outdated but it was SO AWESOME.

Fun Fact: During Halloween Horror nights 2014, the queue for the maze "Alien vs Predator" wound through the Twister queue. In the maze itself, they recreate the scene from Aliens where Bill Paxton's character gets pulled through a floor grate by a xenomorph.
