Ugh, i hate it that they're shutting down their iconic rides for some 3-D crap. It makes me sad and nostalgic that theyre closing them down.. Ugh. The only one worth riding is terminator and shrek.. But that closed down becuase it was hella outdated soo... Yeah. Sad. Hopefully rhey bring us something better in the future..

back in the summer of 2014, my family and I traveled to universal Orlando and I'm honestly so thankful I got to ride this attraction before they removed it. this ride like twister was a spectacle and it saddens me that these kind of rides no longer exist. I never thought in my lifetime that I would've experienced a ride like this before they took it out and this was back when I had a fascination with theme parks, thanks to the game Minecraft....I miss the good old nostalgic days of 2013-2014/2015.

Even though I don't think I've ever been on this, it's quite sad to see go for something like a Fast and Furious attraction.. I get that they're updating with the times but it just seems like the original vision of Universal Studios is fading away. There's no place in the world to get rides like backlot tours and these super cool attractions(Twister included) so to see them go is pretty sad, especially since if they were to redo this attraction now, they could probably make it 100x cooler and more realistic with the effects of today. I get why they have to do something like Fast and Furious because it sells, but it's just a shame it's at the cost of some really interesting attractions.

This is why Disney is superior... like I love universal and all especially the Harry Potter and Spider-Man rides but god the simulations are boring. Spider-Man and Transformers literally have the same ride mechanic. Disney has a variety with rollercoasters, family friendly rides, old rides, new rides, etc. that’s why Disney is a family favorite more than universal. Universal focuses more on being with the times instead of focusing on the real magic put into these rides.

There is still the disaster ride in the Hollywood tour ride in Universal Studio Hollywood, might wanna visit that one, it’s not as good as the Florida one but it is identical.

@@babysapling1717 Tbh, I think Disney Parks also shoot themselves on foot as well in terms of new ride ideas. A lot of people think that the new rides they were planning are now cash grabs instead of actually great rides. You can still like Disney, I'm not saying you must hate Disney. I'm just saying that they've gone... yeah, bad also in terms of guest experiences.

This movie had some of the best special effects I’ve ever seen in a theme park ride and it is a shame they replaced this AND beetlejuice with fast and the furious which is one of the worst rides I’ve ever been on.

This ride has so much charm to it. It’s sad that this style of immersive show elements and practical effects for rides are out of style. You can watch big screens in movie theaters. Things like this you can only experience at a theme park and are just so much more memorable because of that.

Every time I would go to universal studio's with my youth group I'm always glad ,and cite to be picked as an actor in a show called disaster based on an earthquake ride I haven't went there in five year's even ,before they got rid of jaw's to put in fast ,and the furious, because nothing will compare the original ride's. RIP jaw's ,earthquake, and especially Kong, twister,terminator etc.

I don't know...I liked it better when it was Earthquake. The Disaster variation just ruined it for me. Not only did it tone down the main ride but the preshows weren't very good. I got to participate in the preshow twice as part of the "Evil Trio", though, which was cool. Disaster just didn't have the same spark that Earthquake had.

I didn't get to ride Earthquake: The Big One at Universal Studios Florida. Upon arriving at Florida back in 2016 at the San Francisco section, I noticed that it was closed, and then I went back to my home. Then later in 2018, I heard that the new ride was opened, and it was called Fast and Furious Supercharged, and many people does not like it, including me. Some found it disappointing, some found it a waste of time, while I said that "IT RUINED THE EARTHQUAKE THE BIG ONE/DISASTER! RIDE!! Wow, what a shocker to see this nostalgic ride to disappear...". Thank god that there are still footages of Earthquake: The Big One on KZbin.

this attraction was what belongs at Universal. It's like being in a movie and it's mostly practical effects. Screw the 3D screen crap they replaced this with! They could have atleast put some freakin effort into the Fast and Furious ride considering how fun to watch the movies were, but nope they decided let's be as half-assed as possible.
