Attukal Pongala is a ten-day festival dedicated to Goddess Bhagavathy, who is also known as Attukalamma. On the ninth day, millions of women gather on the streets and offer Pongala, a sweet dish made of rice, jaggery, coconut, and plantain, to the deity.
