Groundsheet pegs at 90 deg.(it was 45deg you were inserting them at) then guy ropes at 45 deg. That was an impressive 360 deg turnaround. Otherwise great work and very informative.

Thanks for the great demo, it made a daunting task easy and pretty quick. From scratch, including laying the footprint, it took me 45 minutes, first time ever. I reckon I’ll do it in 20-30 minutes next time. Great video, thanks for posting!

Thanks for being so thorough. I just purchased an Easy Camp Hurricane 500 airbeam tent on a closeout special from an online camping goods dealer in the USA, and it was very helpful seeing your video. Easy Camp does not have a video on how to pitch my model; the instructions sewn into the bag don't have any photos, and they don't supplement them with more thorough printed instructions. Your video really helps! One comment: the pump you used in this video looks very similar to the one that came with my Easy Camp. The hose on my pump is not very flexible: in fact, after inflating the third and final airbeam, the hose cracked. The plastic seems not very flexible. I wrapped it with electrical tape as a temporary repair, but I'm going to get more flexible hose and connect the ends of the original hose to that with some radiator hose clamps and rubber sealer. What has been your experience with that pump/hose?

This was really useful. Thanks. I havent been camping in well over a decade and I used these things called Poles! I've now upgraded to air for my first trip in ages and this was a great video showing me the guidlines on setting up. I had a question at 4:00 I may have missed the answer to. Is the peg angle 90 degrees to the tent/guideline? or 90 degrees to the ground?

I'm new to camping with these big family tents, I've actually not been camping in a tent for 15 years. I've recently bought a 6 man air tent and we done a trial pitch the other week. I have a really amateur question to ask but I'm worried I do it wrong and break my tent. My question is. When putting the pegs, the straps have plastic ring attached and a looped end on the material. When putting the pegs in, do you peg the plastic loop or the lopped material?

I've just bought my first Airbeam tent... a Kampa, but the gauge on the Kampa doesn't hold the pressure gauge to check. Is this right?
@AttwoollsCoUk3 жыл бұрын
That is correct, it is because Kampa tents have a one way valve, so there is no back pressure for the gauge to work. So you’ll only get a reading while physical pumping.

I've never been winded setting up my pole tent.
@MrEvilWasp6 жыл бұрын
What are these like for putting up in windy weather compared to a normal tent that uses poles? Peace
@AttwoollsCoUk6 жыл бұрын
Putting up an inflatable tent tends to be easier even in windy conditions, because you peg the main corners of a tent first the tent is then secured down. This means regardless of how bad the weather is the tend isn't going anywhere. You can then pump the beams up at your own leisure and if needed peg the guyropes as you go. The issue with a pole tend is that you have to feed the poles and then fight against the wind to stand them up (with two people) and connect the ring and pin system. Hope this helps.
@MrEvilWasp6 жыл бұрын
Thanks for replying. I've been using a Sunncamp Evolution 400 for years now and its been to loads of festivals as well as ordinary camping in that time. Although there is nothing wrong with it i've been eyeing up these air tents and because ive been thinking about retiring my old tent. One concern was the wind and the others are punctures and leaks. Are they tough enough because i can imagine it would be a nightmare to find a tiny pin hole in a deflating tube while camping. How would or even could they be repaired out in the field? I know it's a lot of question but these things aren't cheap compared to ordinary tents. Peace
@AttwoollsCoUk6 жыл бұрын
Not a problem, Inflatable tents tend to use thicker and more robust fabrics so that you can have a longer lifespan. Most brands like Vango give you a mini puncture repair kit so you can repair the beam on site if needed, alternatively you can purchase a spare as a back up. There is normal three layers to the beams, 1 the PVC bladder, 2 the sleeve that the bladder sits in and 3 the zip compartment of the tent. So this means it well protected. The principle of repairing a beam/tube is no different to a bike tyre, you can unzip the beam, get down to the bladder but a self adhesive patch/tape on the issue and insert it back into the tent or replace the whole bladder is needed. You do get more condensation in inflatable tents than you do with poled tents but then you will find that there is normally more ventilation panels to combat that but again inflatable tents tend to have a higher waterproof rating than poled tents so they should be more waterproof. Hope this helps.
@MrEvilWasp6 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much for taking the time to give me great information. If i bought the 4 the four man version of the Kampa Brean Air would do you stock the spare bladders or would i have to get in touch directly with Kampa. I'm thinking of picking a spare up at the same time just to be on the safe side. Brushing soapy water over an air tube to find a leak in the chucking down rain doesn't sound like a fun time to me lol. There are some undesirables at festivals that enjoy wrecking other peoples stuff. One festival i went to a few years back a lad went up a row of tents slashing them with a stanley knife just to be an arse. If anyone found it funny to stick a needle or something in one of the beams i think you would agree having a spare would be ideal. Swap it over and then i will still have my tent standing while looking for the hole to repair on the other one. Anyhow i've waffled on enough so once again thanks for all your help and patience. Peace
