This guy is an absolute LEGEND 😀. Used his tutorial step by step to dismantle a 9-man Berghaus air tent pretty much single handedly as I have really young kids & no one to help. His tips about what to do in windy conditions were absolutely ESSENTIAL because heavy gusts made the job 10x harder. Using his technique, fitting the tent in the bag was actually the EASIEST part as I somehow still had loads of room in the bag 😂.

What a star, followed his advice to pack away a Khyam Airtek Kampa Pro 5, which I had previously struggled to fit in the bag. Now the awning is in the bag, plus the pegs and pump. On this awning, it is possible to use the deflate function on the stirrup pump, to remove all the air from the tubes, which also helped. Thanks young man for posting this video.

A couple of really useful tips in there. Having watched I was able to get the tent back in the bag with room for the carpet and pump. Thanks, good work.

Excellent video. This afternoon I got our Berghaus Air 6 XL tent back in its bag at the first attempt thanks entirely to this video - which I've never achieved before! I'd always previously folded both halves into the middle before, then folded again. But clearly this is a much better technique to use for putting away an air tent - folding it steadily - at the width of the bag - towards the side with the (open) valves. Much appreciated!

It helps that Vango and Easy Camp (the model I bought) come with bags large enough for the task. Too many tents are folded ultra-tight at the factory, and to save money, the bags they come with are sized for the factory-packed tent... not for a tent that has been taken out of the bag and repacked.

I had trouble deflating with the pump, until I took off the pressure gauge then it worked fine. Try it! Top job on the vids👍

In the early days of camping, I remember "igloo" tents with pneumatic tubes in a cross shape. These are far superior, and as I'm considering taking up camping again and want to take a bike, an air frame is now on my list.

After a few bothched attempts I used this method on my Rivendell800xl the same as in this video and it worked perfectly leaving space for the pump, pegs, ground sheer and mallet. And any newbies out there you can leave the valves open without using the pump adapter to realease air! Something I didn't realise 😬 I am also going to invest in a heavy duty wheely bag you can purchase from Vango which should make it easier.

Rather than tying up the guy ropes, I do the opposite that you said with the ground peg straps - I slide the toggle all the way up so the guy rope is a short loop - I find that tying them up is a bit hit and miss with helpers and it can result in worse knots/mess. Making the guy ropes as short as possible is enough to stop them tangling and snagging in most cases.

Can you make a video taking it down in windy weather also?
@AttwoollsCoUk4 жыл бұрын
Bluesjanet it would be pretty much the same process but when it got to the tent being folded and packed away you would want to rotate the tent around so that the back of the tent is facing the wind allowing the breeze to help thrust the air out of the open front door. Hope this helps.

Like the video. Will this work with airgo stratus 400?
@AttwoollsCoUk6 жыл бұрын
You certainly can use this method for your Airgo Stratus 400 Tent, as you don't have a front canopy, you would just start folding from the one side.
@clairebriggs43337 жыл бұрын
yes a good idea in theory as it gets the air out but who folds the ground sheet onto the fly sheet it's a massive camping no no! We tried various ways of re packing our Rivendale 800xl and this one did not work! We rolled it the same as it came from out the box and it goes back in the bag oh and a the ground sheet doesn't touch the fly sheet.
@AttwoollsCoUk7 жыл бұрын
I would agree but with the sewn-in groundsheets these days, everybody should be really purchasing footprints, it is an necessity, as it keeps the bottom of the tent clean and dry. We have packed up hundreds of different inflatable tents using this method and it is yet to fail us. Packing the tent up the same way the factory that the has is also a good idea but can be tricky to remember sometimes.
@danielmudd8056 жыл бұрын
I agree with with you Claire, however I have a footprint, so this works for me. Attwoolls, i'm sorry to say but if it's essential, include the footprint as part of the tent, otherwise in my opinion you aren't selling a complete product
@JBM4255 жыл бұрын
@@danielmudd805 Although I agree with you in principle, in fairness to Attwoolls, the manufacturers determine what comes with the tent. It's not like Attwoolls or any other dealer get a complete package and strip out the footprint in order to sell it separately to make a double profit. I'm aware of some tents that a few years ago came with the footprint included but now it's sold separately. If you want the manufacturers to include the footprint, be prepared to pay an extra $50/£40 or so on top of the cost of the tent.. As Hall & Oates would sing, "What you think, you'd get it for free?" :)

So much for takes just one person putting it up. You need two to put it away
@AttwoollsCoUk3 ай бұрын
You can only have one person pack it away but for the purpose of the demonstration we thought it would be better with two. On all of the bespoke pitching videos we do, Mike put them up and down on his own.

looking at this footage, im going to stick to my pop-up tent, much quicker
@JBM4255 жыл бұрын
I thought about a pop-up tent, but the cabin-style pop-ups don't do well in moderate to high winds. Airbeam tunnel tents do better in these conditions.
