Thank you. My Eiger has been running bad for years and finally quit on me while snowplowing this year, leaving me in the middle of the road! A new carb was actually pretty cheap on Ebay and I switched it out with the help of your video. Afterwards she started right up and purred better than before the "great gas explosion" of 2017 (my last attempt at fixing it. Took my eyebrows a while to grow back). Thanks again!!

Hello from Tweed, Good video, have a Suzuki Vinson very similar bike, can't get my carb off with my giant hands without pulling the gas tank on mine, good for you for getting it in and out so easily. I had to replace the plastic nut on my choke as well. I ordered just the nut itself from the Suzuki Dealership in Belleville, and only paid $7 for the nut. If it goes bad again maybe try and just get the nut from the dealer. Good luck, take care.

Where did you buy the plunger on amazon do you have a link?
@evanhorst30824 жыл бұрын
I just bought a 2004 Eiger and went through the carb completely. Still didn’t like to start cold. I then found that the spark was good but intermittent. Turns out the fly wheel on these was quite a faulty part and the magnets used were glued in. I decided to check the flywheel and sure enough the magnets weren’t positioned where they should be. Replaced with a new and improved flywheel from rmstator and she fired right up no matter what temp.
@GettingItDoneRepairs4 жыл бұрын
Good stuff, which flywheel are you speaking about
@evanhorst30824 жыл бұрын
Sorry should have been more specific. The Flywheel engine left side where the stator is. The power generator for the electrical system. When the magnets located on the flywheel become dislodged it will cause the electrical system to have erratic power which often causes hard starting or a rough engine because of the lack or erratic spark.
@GettingItDoneRepairs4 жыл бұрын
@@evanhorst3082 did yours run rough as well?mine seems to idle fine but sometimes there seems to be a bit of a hiccup. Like it labours slightly
@evanhorst30824 жыл бұрын
@@GettingItDoneRepairs This Eiger didn’t like to start and ran rough at times or would randomly shut off. I followed your suggestion and replaced the fuel petcock. I then cleaned the carb. It did hesitate so I cleaned carb again and found some gunk in the main jet. Ran great after that if I could get it started. After replacing the flywheel and cleaning carb everything starts and runs perfect. Might be worth checking that flywheel, found some other good videos on you tube. If that spark hesitates then it will get fouled out from un burnt fuel and run kinda rough. My plug was looking really black which also lead me down the spark route and checking the idle adjustment screw for mixture.
@GettingItDoneRepairs4 жыл бұрын
@@evanhorst3082 thank you I will take a look at the spark plug.

We had a hard time at our farm in the winter with our ATV's not starting..... If we did not use them every week. However it was because the battery would die because of the cold....I would not be able to begin how to do what you just did...as a chef I don't like putting my hands into small spaces..lol 7:49 and you took out the spring and found that diaphram....I would not be able to put it back...lol It is interesting to learn and watch you...

New subr here Roland. Great repair content. Thanks so much for taking the time to share. I was hoping you'd post the pn for the diaphragm. Was it OEM Suzuki or aft mkt? I just bought an 04 Eiger 400 4x4. It runs and idles great, but sputters and pops when trying to accelerate slowly...like when i'm doing weed spraying. I was going to do your petcock repair, carb diaphragm, as well as a valve adjustment. Your videos are a great help!!
