It's true Suzuki is best all around with starting it and having reverse and racing I race mine and I have a o3 but the bad thing on mine is the suspension isn't to well it could be better but I still love it!!!

@AlandHannes If you like big bore 4-stroke, we highly recommend the Raptor 700 over the 660. But for sporty, quick handling the LTZ400 is our favorite.

@01HONDARACER Maintenance. It means the periodic work needed to keep a machine running, like changing the oil, spark plugs, adjusting the valve, keeping the chain lubed and adjusted, adjusting the valves, and even things like replacing the clutch, tires, brakes, and fixing broken items like the steering stem, wheel bearings, and a-arm joints. Machines that don't require repairs, just maintenance are said to be reliable. Hondas are know to be reliable. So are Suzukis.

I bought a 2005 ltz400 about 2 weeks ago for 1850 and let me tell you I had this thing in a wheelie in every gear I can't keep it from popping up on me even when I'm on the gas tank im 185 you think it would stay on the ground but idk what's all done to the motor lol
@lmCIoudz9 жыл бұрын
+Vincent Washburn How do you like it? There's two LTZ's for sale around where I live, ones an 03 for $1999 and the other is an 04 for $2000. Really considering them.
@vincentwashburn59129 жыл бұрын
I really like it keeps up with the 450s at least mine does there good all around from trail riding to racing I just had mine gone through all new suspension, powder coated frame, a arms, subframe so I can race it. But I'd probably go with the 04 since it's newer I also have a 2004 ltz400 and a 2005 ltz400 I like both never rode a 2003 but from 03 to 04 the wiring cdi was all the same motor is the same through 08 on the 05 they put a throttle sensor on it and changed the wiring and better suspension. I'd go with the better quad like if the motor runs strong if it looks like it hasn't been abused much

Vincent Washburn Thank you!

Some of the earliest 400 has welds that would crack. I'd check over the machine very good before you buy it. Plus, if it starts to crack you can always have it welded. If it cracks depends on a lot of factors.

Once someone messes with the upper end, who knows. Stock the machine is bullet-proof.

@rohockeykickass That's not my decision! But I like the way it handles in the dunes, and the fact that it has an electric start!

I think the headlight is different on the DVX, but the DVX is pretty much the same quad as the LTZ or KFX
@wellstorihorse13 жыл бұрын
@ATVTVCOM could you do test on the new model?
@ATVTVCOM12 жыл бұрын
The KFX400 was made by Suzuki for Kawasaki so absolutely everything is interchangeable...

They are great quads! But I'd don't understand asking about a bored out cylinder and a bigger head? How do those two fit together?
@ATVTVCOM13 жыл бұрын
@MRATVRIDER13 The LTZ is much more tossable and sporty. It's one of my favorite machines.

Im 5"7 and 155 lbs. And i fit the Z 400 just fine. But like they said you cant legally ride it until your 16.

@NOREMAC770 You really need to rejet with any (either) of those mods for best performance. Rejetting it will make a bigger difference the mods - and you won't run the engine too lean and blow it up!
@ATVTVCOM13 жыл бұрын
@NOREMAC770 Again, bog or not, you need to check the jetting to make sure it's not too lean.

@william16339 They all are chain drive - our error in the specs....
@ATVTVCOM13 жыл бұрын
@NOREMAC770 It will not run properly with stock jetting and a freer-flowing filter and exhaust. It will be starving for fuel. Whether I'd call it bogging - more like hesitation...

@01HONDARACER They are very close. Had both for many years (and miles) over a long period of time. They are both great. Until the last 5 or so years I think Honda had a slight advantage, but no longer.

I thought in 05 they switched to piggyback reservoir front shocks. At :56 they don't look like the right shocks. You sure this is an 05?

The ltz is not that much more powerful than a 400ex. I raced my friend z400 with my 400ex and we wer pretty much the same. It will never even be close to honda reliability.
