John Valente and Black & Stern, I think.

Thanks for sharing this. This was when the soft porn writers came in, and you can really tell from the Mark/Connor and Diego/Emily scenes. This story made Emily so hated by fans that the show ended up having Diego rape her (ugh). I liked Brooke Alexander. I'm sorry they let her go. The Lisa/John scenes were great, and the ballroom looked beautiful. Hard to remember when soaps had even this much of a budget. When I saw Lucinda's name I thought she'd be in the episode :(

To think, the writers during the late 90s were fired in rapid succession. This was Gold compared not just to the Goutman era, but to the modernization efforts that took place at most soaps during the 2000s. By 2002 we hard bleach blonde Hunt Block transforming Craig into a killer, the Hughes and Stuart families MIA with the exception of a camped out Emily plotting with silly Henry. Stern or Black were fantastic compared to that last decade.
