Why did you friend with the chord around her neck got diagnosed late with CP? My nephew is 12 months and he did have his chord around his neck 2x at birth, and he'd meet his milestones just in the nick of time. However, his grandparents have always thought he had unstable lower body as he was learning to crawl. And he had an respiratory infection around 9 months for like 2-3 weeks and since then he regressed - forgot how to clap, high five, no longer tried to stand independently. And his muscles are a lot less stable. And at 12 months, he had him do PT evaluation and he is found to have low muscle tone. My question is, what are things to look for with the chords around the neck vs CP?
@movementlesson5 ай бұрын
The two can have similar outcomes. Ultimately, the child only has CP if you get the diagnosis, and you would have to get that from a doctor. The biggest thing I look at is the quality of movement. Just because you are seeing a milestone performances does not mean the child is getting the milestones in their system, and sometimes that is not visibly noticeable to anyone until 3 years or older. This is a huge disservice to you. Did you do genetic testing? Babies don't regress. Regression and low tone are often signs of genetic disorders. With the things you are explaining, optimal development is not happening in the system. So the big question is if you are okay where things are at? Or if you want to put in the work for more optimal development? If you want to be proactive and give your child the best development they are capable of? Your child can still have challenges due to the low tone and life experiences that he has had, but you can give him the gift of more optimal development with movement lessons.

My 18 mo baby has been in physical therapy for a few months. They got her crawling but she still isnt walking. She loves to lean and 'deadweight' which is concerning me. We are being referred for genetic testing after changing Drs. What else should i be doing for her?
@movementlesson2 ай бұрын
She needs better foundational movements. She has issues with weight transfer and possibly visual midlines. I would need to see a few videos. She need to get in and out of standing for walking to happen. I can review a few videos in my Facebook group kzbin.info/www/bejne/baOxq52XZcelm9k

@movementlesson2 ай бұрын
Has you baby been checked out by a doctor and are you having a genetics panel done? You need to manually optimize her system so she can get the experiences of development since the performances will be harder for her to do. I can give you more guidance but, I need to know more of what currently is being done with your baby and how the doctors are handling it.

That is very difficult to deal with. I have worked with many parents in the same situation. They feel no hope for the future. They are not sure what will happen. The future is unknown, but I want parents to feel hope for the future. That's why I do my work. My goal is to teach you how to help your child have as much movement, development, and independence as possible.

You are welcome. I am glad to hear you feel so much hope. I also work with many parents who have that same attitude and they actually do the best with my programs, becuase I give you more options to unlock the potential you see in your child. All the best to your situation and if there is something I can do to help, please ask.

This is a response I gave to someone else but would apply in your case too. I can give you more exact guidance if a see a video, you can request to join, and post a video of your daughter there and I will do a free review - facebook.com/groups/MovementLessonParentsPractitioners. Are you in any early intervention? Is your daughter in glasses? Your daughter is not getting the movements she needs for development and you should start with her first milestone Sleeping and Lying down and go through each milestone. All the milestones build on each other, so if you are not getting sitting, that means the other milestones are not setting up like they need to. So to you, you might say, "my child sleeps" but its not about whether or not your child can sleep, she doesn't have the optimal movements that that milestone should have given her, nor does she have her tummy time or any of the other milestones in a way that her system can optimize her movements. Get in my Fast Start program and practitioners are there to help support you every step of the way - www.movementlesson.academy/offers/tMooLKCC/checkout. I need to see a good eye report and a hip x-ray. If you don't have either. Get them.

You child needs better foundation in their milestone movements. You need to start from the beginning establishing those movements as if they happened. It's okay if your child is older, my exercises allow you to work with those first movements and optimize them. Low tone often needs better breathing movements, and then you want to go into Sleeping and lying down movements, tummy time movement, looking at you movements and so on progressing through the milestones. The link to the program - www.movementlesson.academy/fast-start. I would spend a week on each of the courses, which you can have free access to for 60 days in my Fast Start Support Program (we are in the process of changing the name to Optimal Development Program). In the breathing course focus on the first 6 exercises, the rest of the course is not relevant to you right now unless you want to keep practicing with the exercises. Then next week do sleeping and lying down. What you are looking for as you do these course is optimization in your child's movements. These courses are going to give your child the experiences of development as if they happened naturally on their own. What you are going to see with your baby is increased movement, faster movements, less awkward movements, more coordinated movements, and so on. You can get better performances of the different milestones which is also a sign of optimization. Your baby will appear to get stronger as you do the courses, even though you are not doing "muscle work." Your baby doesn't need more muscle to move, they need more rotational movements and my courses teach you how to do just that. This is along term care plan for your child, so if you are looking for a quick fix, these are not the courses for you. But if you want something that will help you to continually optimize your child's movement and development despite the difficulties they are and will continue to have due to he low tone, then these are the courses for you. Low tone is often a sign of genetics, so if your doctor hasn't done anything for you baby up to this point, ask for genetic testing, so if there is a gentic mutation you can be even more proactive with your child's needs. Again the link to my Optimal Development program - www.movementlesson.academy/fast-start. You got this, you can help your child thrive even more on top of everything else you are doing! These courses aim to give you back time. You can have more results with less "therapy time." Let me be clear that Movement Lesson IS NOT THERAPY though people will often use that word to describe it. Movement Lesson is optimal development and it teaches you how to create optimal movements in your child.

@movementlesson7 ай бұрын
As long as your child is medically stable, I would get started right away with my Fast Start Support Program. Development isn't happening at all for your child and you need to be more manual with it. I teach you how to do that in the program. Start with the sleeping and lying down course and you are going to spend 2-4 weeks on each milestone. You will have weekly zoom support if you take advantage of it and we will help you have home success in applying the exercises in the courses. If you haven't, your baby needs to be checked for genetics right away. There are different panels so you will want the genetic panel be the epileptic genetic panel. You may already have that in process. You may also consider a scope for the throat to make sure you baby doesn't have a floppy airway that we need to be concerned about.

If your child is struggling with the crawl, you want to go and optimize the movements of the prior milestones. Get into my Optimal Development Program (It will say Fast Start Support Program for now, but we are in the process of changing that) and start with the Sleeping and Lying Down Course, then spend one week on each milestone optimizing the milestone movements so you can have a higher quality crawl. - www.movementlesson.academy/fast-start
