That ending part. 'Nobody will even notice'. Such a simple phrase with so much impact, interpreted again and again differently to intent. Isolation, neglect, depression, denial. Reassurance.

The display of all the emotions with Aubrey is amazing. Most people keep perspectives to Sunny and Basil, which I thoroughly understand. There are also perspectives of Kel and Hero, as well as their fights. However, no one really fledged or fill in the spaces of Aubrey's story since its already put into motion from the Vanilla, but something like this BREATHES light into her story. There are interpretations and smooth blanks anyone can fill in with thoughts and imagination, while personally, I believe this is the best one. It goes to show how EMPTY it really felt when Aubrey was with Basil. There was no true casual or comforting friendliness; you could feel the desperation coming from Aubrey to restore the friend group. Yet, we know why. I love how faithful this is to the Omori Artstyle and Plot, but has enough originality of both that it feels like an authentic creation but weaved into such a great animatic. Sorry for the paragraph thing. Its 12 and Im suuuper tired. All in all, cool as heck animation. I absolutely adore the Kim and Aubrey meetup. It's absolutely in character.

it makes me wonder if maybe aubrey got the idea that basil said something stupid to mari that lead to her suicide and that maybe aubrey thinks that basil scratched out the photos because he always hated mari and secretly bullied her into suicide. aubrey has several lines about how she doesnt belive shes the bully, or the bad guy, which to me maybe indicates that she has it in her head that basil was abusing mari somehow, almost mirroring how basil cant bring himself to belive sunny couldnt have killed mari, that it had to be "something" behind him, maybe aubrey couldnt accept that mari had killed herself on her own and effectively abandoned her, "someone" had to have pushed her into suicide, so in her mind that someone is basil, like, aubrey doesnt pick on basil for fun or because hes different, she seems to genuinely belive hes evil in some way, and that might be why

Dude her friendship with Kim is so wholesome i will literally cry, the song "it means everything" (the one that plays when she finds the scribbled out photos) is even more sad now if you put into the context that she had no one to look up ro other than mari who was the closest thing she's had to an older sister, to me, Kim is one of the best things that's ever happened to aubrey after mari, she gave her a friend that she can trust and a fresh start, it's really sweet how you remember the fact that near the end of the game, when hero suggests that sunny visits once in a while to hang out and so stuff, she asks of her new friends could come too, because they really did make her feel less alone and she couldn't bear to just leave them after her old friend group is back in somewhat of a healthy state

at 1:16 i love how there’s a silhouette of a tree that’s between aubrey and basil. it kinda reminds me of the tree where mari was h@nged, so it symbolizes basil’s past making him distance himself from aubrey. it’s his trauma that makes it hard for him to talk to aubrey like he did before mari died.

I love how they show the gradual process of Aubrey beginning to harm Basil, from her lashing out for a split moment because Basil doesn’t want to see Sunny, you know that’s the start of it.

I'm curious of when (if she hasn't already) Aubrey gets her hair dyed. Monochrome doesn't lend itself to things like that. I presume that she'll get her dyed in the near-future, considering the Kim photograph, plus the fact she doesn't have her hair bow. I only watched the first part of this series a few weeks ago, so seeing it update for the first time in over a year was certainly a surprise. Great animation!

A perfectly bittersweet animatic video. Which isn’t a bad thing. As it captures the tone of that part of Aubrey’s story really well. Sweet, as Aubrey is able to make new friends in the meantime. And bitter, as her relationship with her old friends is even more in shambles, especially with Basil. Although is it weird that I interpreted the album incident happening while Aubrey just started forming her hooligan friend group? Something along the lines like this: •Aubrey starts to slowly form her new friend group with Kim. But in the middle of it she notices Basil, all alone (from the guilt of getting involved with Mari’s death). She asks him if she could come over to his house to: 1) Try to comfort him and herself about Mari’s death. 2) Have one more look at his photo album, to help put her at ease a bit about it. And 3) Try to reconcile with him. And maybe even make him part of her new friend group. •But that plan fell apart after seeing the album all scribbled up with marker. •She would eventually tell her new friend group about it, although rather vaguely. Where they only get the basic info that Basil did something that angered and upset Aubrey while she visited him. Making them go “nobody does that to our friend and gets away with it!”. And over time they joined in with Aubrey picking on Basil. But that’s just me and my walnut brain’s interpretation of that part of the game. Beautifully made animatic still.

I think I got that impression from the Berly’s lost ball quest. With it ending with Berly teaching Aubrey how to head-butt. And the fights with Aubrey & Kim show that one of their attacks are head-butts. Giving me the impression that the last thing Sunny saw before becoming a shut-in was Aubrey becoming friends with Kim.

this is very well made - the way the various scenes are directed/paced, how the music is used, and the way you showed the emotions of the characters is excellent. so much effort and care must have gone into making this. aubrey is my favourite character so I love this by default, but you have a real skill for short film storytelling.

Wow, just wow. I love everything about this episode. Visually, it looks great. The way you drew the characters expressions is just amazing and the balance of backdrop detail and colour usage is something I can wholeheartedly vibe with. After watching the first episode a year ago, it was clear that this one was going to cover the photo album bit, and the way you handled it did not disappoint in the slightest. This video perfectly shows the doubts and panic that lead Basil to making the mistake of not clearing up the mistake about the damage to the photos. Now, Aubrey, feeling completely alone in the world, finds comfort in a new friend. We all know where that eventually leads. The bit in Sunny's house also played out in the way I would imagine it'd go. I like how you could see the struggles on the face of Sunny's mother, and the send-off of Sunny's funky trauma representative when the boy looks at his friends as they leave. There isn't much left to include as more 'Memories' before the game begins, so I'm guessing this will be the final episode as well. In any case, it's been a very enjoyable experience and I want to thank you and everyone who helped for your work. Have a good one!

Something I feel like you missed, as a lot of people seem to have. Sunny did not stop going to school immediately and hung out with Basil a bunch before disappearing. Hero did stop going immediately, but Sunny watched all his friends drift apart before he decided to stop going outside. This is most notable in dialogue because they say "When Mari died" and "When you stopped going to school" as if they were two very separate events. A few months is a guess based on the context but could have been a significantly shorter timeframe; my best guess is 3 months.

Finally got around to watching part 2, and just... wow. Aubrey and Basil walk to his house, surely nothing can go wrong right...? 0:23 Oof, immediately starting with reminding Basil of the other person who knows, and the fact that Sunny has expressed no desire to stick together with him. And when he tries to explain it to Aubrey... she can't understand, and we get the first peak at her tendency to lash out. Also Basil looks so sadly adorable at 0:55. 3:18 Yeaaahhh Basil getting immediate ptsd seeing the backyard again... and can see the tree's already chopped down too. 3:48 I like how you characterized Sunny's mom, overwhelmed by everything, and not ready to get Sunny out of the house, that just... ends up becoming years of neglect. 4:42 Something behind you... 6:23 In the middle of his breakdown Basil remembers what Sunny did to the photos... too little, too late. 7:10 And finally the reveal. Love the immediate shock from Aubrey, asking Basil in disbelief, before accusing him outright, and the whole time Basil doesn't know what to say, because he didn't do it. 8:25 Ouch... Aubrey's in the middle of a breakdown herself, but forces herself to stop and pretend to be calm while walking past mom. Even now she probably has to remember to not make her angry. 8:46 Some futile attempts at cleaning up the trash... she was probably the only one that ever tried to clean in that house, at least since her father left. 9:07 Poor Basil, suffering at the tree again, and this time Aubrey completely ignores him. 9:27 Kim! :D 10:12 Pft yeah Kim would be one of the first to swear. 10:31 Again really sad but adorable- 11:34 Heh. Kim's first teaching Aubrey how to rebel, and with the new friendship, despite all the bridges burned, Aubrey's world brightens a little. 11:46 Sadly accurate... Sunny and Hero are inside, Kel's trying to move on, and Basil has no hope of rebuilding your friendship. Once again a beautiful animation. Realistic, to the point, and filled with emotion. I think something this video highlights is that even though Ken (rightly) gets a lot of credit for being the glue that pulls everyone back together four years later, this depiction shows that in all likelihood Aubrey was trying to do the exact same thing directly following the tragedy. But because Basil, Hero, and Sunny are ridden with so much guilt - each for different reasons - Aubrey was essentially gaslit into thinking that they actually didn’t want to see *her*, that she was somehow a part of the problem. So maybe it’s possible that her becoming a “hooligan” wasn’t just spurred by her being left alone, but also feeling like she failed to bring the group back together when they needed each other the most. She tried to be like Mari, watching after the group, but without Hero she just couldn’t do it by herself. And just from that alone, I think her character deserves just as much sympathy as anyone else in the game, even though it is frustrating to see her treat Basil poorly and initially reject Kel and Sunny.
