Damn this brings back memories. I did a Bachelor and Masters of Sport and Leisure Studies from 1995 to 2000. I remember covering this in 1996, Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi. As someone who had a sports background, I immediately identified with it. I went on to have an interest in Genius, and how those at genius level enter the flow experience. I don't think my man Aubrey quite grasps flow experience when he was talking about pickleball. Flow experience is not really something you can be conscious of at the time as in "I'm having a flow experience right now...". It's like when Morpheus says to Neo: "There's a difference between knowing the path and walking the path". "Knowing" takes away from the experience, intellectualizes it. "Walking" without knowing is when flow happens.

Wow awesome, I plugged in my ears in the early hours as I very often do and listened to Aubrey & Steven -I didn’t hear a thing! Consciously. Went straight back to sleep However, I woke when you were summing up Aubrey and said when you are facing something you change from heels to toes and lean into it. Bravo it was just what I needed -I’m struggling kicking of the year with work, my business getting my head around it. You’ve given me a key...thanks heaps

Two dudes I like listening to here on this podcast. Thanks! A big part of flow is just being a kid having fun playing. I play/work in a forest doing the greater good with the resources I have. STER, and the flow route (struggle, release, flow, recovery) are core development things. Having some skin in your game is part of the process. I've changed from adventure sports to farming and art work as my "flow" time. SO many projects. Its not peak performance but rather optimizing, and time is elongated. I set out my tools sometimes days before the activity, creativity and motivation begins. I follow along pretty well. Low stress high productivity even with dwindling funds., i am a land steward of a few hundred acres, moving 1% at a time. need help, Grit is a cold ass winter just outside a thin door. I'm a fan of Steven, preordered his book which ought to be in the mail, damn.... site tours available to see the slow steady progress. Ha-ha its a lumberjack life here. #plateaucamp #1000meninaforest

It's awesome when you can find parallel understandings that happen between two seemingly unrelated tasks. Sometimes it's really esoteric and not so easy to describe to someone else, yet the value of those insights help bring more universal understandings of how those principles apply to various different scenarios or activities.

autistics have an innate ability to be in our flow state. But we are forced out of this as children thus causing our adverse reactions & sensitivities. It was spirituality that brought me back to this flow state & now science is validating it. Ironically, liberating many autistic children in their own way. Many parents are raising children with this awareness. I believe our new generation autistics will be far more successful than ever before. Such is science. 😄🙏

If I were ever fortunate enough to have a conversation with Aubrey I would feel paranoid that what I was saying wasn't stimulating enough & that he was on autopilot as he is so focused on being in a flow state. I am here questioning my subject matter when talking to people, so maybe that is a good thing. I need to level up!
