During the college football game between Mississippi State and Auburn, Auburn pulled an Atlanta Falcons and blew a 28-3 lead. Midway through the second quarter, Auburn scored a touchdown to go up 28-3 and seemed to be on their way to a victory. But after going down 28-3, Mississippi State responded with a 40-0 scoring run to take a 43-28 lead. Mississippi State quarterback Will Rogers led the comeback, as he started lighting up the Auburn defense in the second half and had five straight touchdown drives. Mississippi State was also aided by a disastrous Auburn fake punt in the fourth quarter. With the win, Mississippi State completed their largest comeback in school history. With the loss, Auburn falls to 6-4 and is likely out of contention for an SEC Championship.

I have to thank MSU. We're watching this game & my son comes out to the living room, sees the score & says "this game's over". I asked him if he wanted to make a bet about that & he said yes. The loser had to do the dishes (I was going to do them anyway, so there's no down side to me). Then after MSU took the lead, he came out & was like, WTF? Then after it was over, I tossed him the dish towel & told him to get to work. That made my day.

Very impressive play by Miss. St. I didn't watch the game, so I'm not sure if it was the same throughout, but one thing really stood out; Miss. State had no showboating or players acting like it was all about them, even after touchdowns. It was all business and getting the ball back to the referee. There were a couple spots in there where a player signaled a first down, but for the most part, it was really great playing backed up by even better sportsmanship. Hail State! We really could be 7-3 right now, but that Memphis fiasco hurt us bad. But, I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t happy with how the team has played this year. They have done a damn good job and they are playing really well. Special teams wasn’t very good the rest of the season, but I think Leach and the other coaches are working to fix the issues for the rest of the season and to better them for next year. But, yeah, this is why you never underestimate State this season. State is a LOT better than the record indicates and than people know. I heard it somewhere earlier this season that State is basically a curveball for anyone that comes up against them and I’d say that’s true. Regardless, a great win to see in person, especially being in the FMB!

I'm a Bama fan as well but I'm gonna keep my mouth shut because we play them in their house in a couple of weeks. As most SEC fans are surely aware, Auburn seems to have a golden horseshoe hanging over Jordan-Hare stadium considering the amount of miracles that have taken place there over the years. I'm not sure what happened to that horseshoe during this game but I hope Bama isn't lulled into a false sense of security because of it.

Is the Auburn coaching staff aware that they are allowed to send more than 3 players to rush the passer?
@MrBurdinekl
@MrBurdinekl 2 жыл бұрын
Yes, and I agree. But rushing 3 and dropping 8 had been the winning formula against the Air Raid at MSU. Rogers replaced a QB last season who couldn't figure out how to connect in that drop 8 zone defense. Rogers has it figured out and I think you are right... it's best to pressure Rogers... he's just too accurate!

I missed the comeback part, but tuned in early in the 4th when it was 29-28, completely unaware of what had happened. When I started seeing the graphics and listening to the announcers talking, I was shocked, and, as an Arkansas fan who watched his team get hosed by Auburn and the refs 2 years in a row, I was a little happy to see it. :)
